Come to our Minute to Win It Block Party! Saturday, August 5

The Minute to Win It Block Party will feature Minute To Win It themed games for all ages. Not only will there be games for all, but there will be opportunities for people of all age groups to compete in age appropriate tournaments to see who will be the Minute to Win It champions of our neighborhood. There will also be free food, bounce houses, yard games, and face painting!

We hope you can make it to the Minute to Win It Block Party, Saturday, August 5 from 11am-1pm.

FLYIN’ PANCAKES The school of Missionary Aviation Technology is hosting a fundraiser “Flyin’ Pancakes” on Saturday, July 22 from 7:30-10:30am. There will be a pancake breakfast, helicopter rides, hot air balloon launch, aircraft fly-in and vintage planes. Pastors Paragraph When I traveled to Jackson, Mississippi last weekend to help my dad see his brother, we took time to drive through the neighborhood where we grew up. It has been 46 years since we lived there so we expected some changes. But we were shocked to turn onto our street and it looked like a war zone. The houses were not just in disrepair, but some of them were boarded up. Bushes and trees were overgrown, junk was all over the yards, and the atmosphere was almost dangerous. As I thought about that neighborhood, I thought about how life must be for those people. It has to be depressing, discouraging, and hopeless! How can the church bring hope to a neighborhood like that? We have some areas like that around our city. What hope can we give? As we talked, my dad said that the only hope is to help individuals discover the love of Jesus and in that find hope. As more and more find that love, hope can be restored to the community. That is our goal here at Pennway. That is our hope for the families we are touching. We want to give hope. Jeremiah writes about the children of while they are in exile and gives us the whole book of his Lamentations concerning that situation. Right in the middle of this book of Lamentations we find this statement: “I remember my affliction and my wandering … and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!” I don’t know what you might be facing right now, but no matter how bad things might seem, call this to mind like Jeremiah did. His compassions will never fail! They are new every morning. His faithfulness is great!

VBS was such a success! We had a fantastic week learning more about the God of the universe and what it means to have a relationship with Jesus! We had 95 different kids come throughout the week and 67 of those kids came every single night! We loved getting to know all of these wonderful kids.

We have an amazing church that is so giving and supportive! Thank you to all 53 volunteers who gave so much time, love and help for VBS! Thank you to those that financially supported VBS, and thank you to those who took time to keep VBS in your prayers. VBS would not have been possible without any of you. You are appreciated!
