The CSS come from Brazil, but in the words of the philosopher, they are citizens of the world. From concerts sold out in England, the success in the United States, the 6 members from São Paulo throw a party wherever they pass by. The band practices a rock with electronic contours, unpretentious and always approaching the dance genre. Who ever danced Let's Make Love and Listen Death From Above , Alala or even the same theme Superafim, may have not left the house in the last year and a half!

With an edited by the mythical Sub-Pop, home of artists as Nirvana and Soundgarden, they have reached the position 63 of the Billboard Top 100, the highest position ever for a Brazilian band. The CSS, now residing in London, bring a new album in their baggage, Donkey (2008), which promises to be the album that will confirm the Brazilian band’s unqualified success on the international market.

CANSEI DE SER SEXY The CSS were formed in São Paulo, in September 2003. This is a group that can mix in exemplary the Rock, Pop and Electronic musical influences, with the theater, design and fashion visual influences. Although sales do not reflect it, this is one of the Brazilian bands with greater visibility, especially on the Internet.

The band began its projects in an uncompromising way and, with the exception of the drummer; no one was specialized in playing their tools. However, the CSS gained fame after creating a fotoblog, which led them to appear in the Folha de Sao Paulo, in the columns of Lucio Ribeiro and Palomino. In 2004, they were the attraction of the Tim Festival, playing before the 2manydjs and on the same stage as the Kraftwerk. The following year they stepped on the Campari Rock stage, which had the MC5 and the The Kills as the head of poster.

Despite having already launched two EPs - Em RotterDam Já É Uma Febre (distributed on concerts) and A Onda Mortal / Uma Tarde Com PJ (sold on São Paulo’s shops) – it was only in 2005 that they signed with the recorder Trama. During the album recording with the same name of the EP CSS SUXXX , sold at concerts and on the Internet, Clara Ribeiro and Maria Helena Zerba leave the band. The album was distributed nationally and even brought the innovative proposal of, in a limited edition, including a CD-R in the same package. This action’s aim was to entice the buyer to download the musics to his computer and then record them on the CD-R and offer them to a friend, providing thus a tribute to the dissemination of music via the Internet. One of the CSS songs was included on the Paris Hilton TV series, from FOX, entitled The Simple Life; another was included on the game The Sims 2: Nightlife, and one of the biggest hits of the band, Superafim passed on the Brazil Big Brother’s 6th edition. In May 2007, the music Alala and Off the Hook have been included in the soundtrack of the game Forza Motorsport 2 for Xbox 360 console, and officially launched in Brazil.

In 2006 the band signed a contract with Sub Pop publisher to release their first album in the United States, Europe and Japan, a compilation of eleven original songs of the band, in English, and that are in the EP CSS SUXXX and on the homonymous album Cansei de Ser Sexy. In July, the band left for an international tour in the United States and Canada, alongside with the Bonde do Role and with the American DJ Diplo. Later the same year, they would share the stage with bands like Ladytron, 1990s and Basement Jaxx, in concerts in Europe. Recently, the band played on one of today’s most popular festivals, the O2 Wireless 2007, in London for an audience of more than 20 thousand people. In October of that year, Nick Haley, a young American student, wrote and edited an amateur ad that shows Apple's iPod Touch, with the music as the background. As the music combined with the very product, Apple got interested and decided to run the ad on some North American TV stations.

X-WIFE The music made by the X-Wife is at same level of the best music that arrives from London or New York, and the reactions across borders prove it. They are praised by James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem), play on the mythical radio station WFMU New York, and were one of the most sold in stores of reference such as Other Music and Insound (NY). They shared the stage with decisive bands like LCD Soundsystem, Artic Monkeys, Soulwax, Liars, Simian Mobile Disco, Love is All, TV on the Radio, Gossip, Chemical Brothers or Justice, and performed in cosmopolitan centers as New York, Austin, London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao, as well as several in areas of Italy.

The new album, "Are you ready for the Blackout?", announces their best work ever, an album where the X-Wife completely dominate a language and a sound that is only theirs, this time more contrasting but, as always, in a formal consistency and an odd, modern and timeless aesthetics.

Gives everything for the music
