The articles deepens on these aspects. 2 KEY WORDS: idea, independence, literature, nationality, Turks. INTRODUCTION. The collapse of the Tsarist empire, which has become quite backward in the globalization process, lost its political and economic fiasco in the First World War, gained a reputation as an international prison of "people" gave the Russian imperialist impetus a boost. it even had to be left out of the international arena in an attempt to prevent it. Azerbaijani intellectuals, who have passed a great historical path from the Islamic-eastern context to the understanding of national identity and have embraced the ideology of national independence, have also made use of these historic circumstances to expose the nation's claim and will. -

Azerbaijan-Turkey Literary Relations: from the Soviet Era to Independence
AZERBAIJAN-TURKEY LITERARY RELATIONS: FROM THE SOVIET ERA TO INDEPENDENCE AUTHORSHIP INTRODUCTION Nurlana Mustafayeva There is a centuries-old history of literary Baku State University, Baku, Azerbaijan. relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey. The ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4339-3468 works of Azerbaijani writers were spread and E-mail: [email protected] highly valued in Turkey as early as the Middle Received in: Approved in: 2021-04-10 2021-06-26 Ages, and Turkish poets and writers benefited DOI: https://doi.org/10.24115/S2446-622020217Extra-E1157p.24-31 from their high literary and aesthetic ideas, creative forms and features. Azerbaijani literature had a strong influence on Turkish authors. For example, there were many references in Turkish literature to the works of prominent Azerbaijani poets Imadeddin Nasimi and Mohammad Fuzuli (AYDIN, 2002, p. 2). In the new era, Turkish poets and writers wrote articles calling for the liberation of Azerbaijan and other Turkic peoples captured by Tsarist Russia. Such writings were especially popular on the eve of World War I and during the war. For example, back in 1916, Mehmet Emin Yurdakul, one of the classics of modern Turkish poetry, described the tragedy of a Karabakh beauty with heartburn in his poem “Caucasian Girl” dedicated to the Azerbaijani public figure Ahmad Bey Agaoglu (ALIYEVA, 2002, p. 28). Such works contributed to the formation of national consciousness and the spread of ideas of freedom in the Turkic peoples, whose native languages and cultures were constantly oppressed under the colonial oppression of Tsarist Russia. The bringing of a large number of Turkish captives to Azerbaijan during the war and the situation of Turkish refugees became the subject of works by Azerbaijani writers. -

Since 1875 the “Ekinchi” newspaper has been published. The article notes that some members of the literary societies of the nineteenth century regularly wrote for the press, tried to publish their articles on the pages of these newspaper, called the newspaper “the source of then light”. Many members of the Seyyid Azim Shirvani’s literary society “Beyt-us-Safa” highly appreciated the activities of the Ekinchi newspaper on science and education. At the same time, the “Ekinchi” was the Azerbaijani newspaper, which also promoted the idea of women’s freedom and women’s education, working for the democratic and cultural development of the people. “Ekinchi” was spread outside Azerbaijan – in Georgia, Dagestan, Uzbekistan and elsewhere, many people sent materials to the newspaper from these places. Hasan bay Zardabi unambiguously declared that the new colonialism, which began to form from the middle of the nineteenth century, began to bear the economic significance and necessity of teaching science to stand it. -

The Idea of Independence in the Literature of the Republican Period
Вчені записки ТНУ імені В. І. Вернадського. Серія: Філологія. Соціальні комунікації UDC 82 DOI https://doi.org/10.32838/2663-6069/2020.3-2/41 Rustamkhanli T. Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi THE IDEA OF INDEPENDENCE IN THE LITERATURE OF THE REPUBLICAN PERIOD At the beginning of the twentieth century another idea came to Turanism, and we can say with full responsibility that Azerbaijan has never experienced a rich cycle of ideas as in the early 20th century. The Azerbaijani literature showed the greatest heroism in fostering a sense of identity to the nation by not only competing with the political power of Azerbaijan, but also struggling for its independence. Azerbaijani literary criticism and study of literary also went through a long way in the Republican Period. Generally, most intellectuals of Azerbaijan at that time, along with the state building, wrote articles, books and published them in European countries to promote Azerbaijani literature, culture, art, history and ethnography. The Azerbaijan Democratic Republic has brought independence and freedom to the people, causing a revolutionary leap in public consciousness, morality, literature, art, and culture and though the most totalitarian regime in the world turned on all repressive machines, it could not erase it from memory. Though the written books, newspapers and articles were burned and destroyed, the seeds of independence that sank into hearts and minds raised again and led to the Independent Azerbaijan Republic. No matter how deep and ancient the history of the idea of national independence of the Azerbaijani people is, its history of research is much shorter.
