With hill bred ewes included, the overall average on the day was £64.63. Top on the day was £85 from Mr Tom Hannaford from Whitstone, who also realised £83.50. 212 NEW SEASON LAMBS A larger entry again met a very fast trade for all weights, with an overall average of 233.6p/kg, selling to a top per kilo of 251p for a pen of 40kgs from Nigel Taylor from St Wenn, followed by Messrs PJ & JL Bennett from St Mawgan who realised 242p/kg for two pens of 41.2kgs (£99.50). Top on the day was £102 for a pen of 43.2kgs from Maurice Tamblyn from Landrake, with two other vendors realising £100.50, from Paul Taylor from Roche and Nigel Taylor from St Wenn. COUPLES A small entry again were very much sought after, with doubles selling to £180 sold in aid of the Addington Fund, with singles to £138 from BA Sheep from Treskinnick Cross. STORE CATTLE AUCTIONEER RICHARD DENNIS 202 STORE CATTLE Another good entry of store cattle to include a large number of younger cattle. Top price on the day was £1075 for a 24 month old Simmental x steer sold by Mr RT Crabb from Tresparrett Post, who also went on to sell a 30 month old Aberdeen Angus x steer for £1060 and also a 21 month old Aberdeen Angus x steer for £1060, with further Angus x steers at £965 and a pair of Hereford x steers at 25 months old for ££930. Mr TF Jasper from Lewannick sold his 22 month old Aberdeen Angus x steer for £1020 and a bunch of four smart British Blue x steers at 14 months old made £1000 for Mr AEH Giddy from Downderry. Mr P Best from St Breward sold a 15 month old British Blue x steer for £985 and his Aberdeen Angus x steer at 14 months old for £945, with a further four Limousin x steers also at 14 months old for £920. A bunch of four 13 month old South Devon x steers sold to £895 on behalf of Messrs WA & MG Northcott from St Gennys. Leading the heifer trade was a pair of 25 month old Limousin x heifers selling for £1035 on behalf of Mr KG Richards from Camelford and Mr SW Tythcott from St Newlyn East saw his bunches of three British Blue x heifers at 20 months old and a bunch of the same age Simmental x heifers both achieve £850 apiece. CULL & PRIME CATTLE AUCTIONEER PETER DENNIS 18 CULL COWS & PRIME CATTLE Another good entry finding plenty of demand. A Limousin x steer sold for 190p/kg on behalf of Mr SJ Crago from Par and a good entry of cull cows saw a top call of 129p/kg on behalf of Messrs E & M Cleave from Pyworthy. Mrs BE Collins from Highwood sold both her Simmental x cow and Hereford x cow for 120p/kg, closely followed by a run of cows from Messrs MG & CB Hoskin from Dobwalls with their best cow to 118p/kg and Mr J Hill from Blisland sold a good Galloway cow for 117p/kg.
