2010, Er Basert På Mellombels Oppgåver Frå Film & Kino Norsk Filminstitutt er staten sitt forvaltningsorgan for filmpolitikk og rådgjevar i filmpolitiske spørsmål. Norsk filminstitutt (NFI) vart etablert 1. april 2008. NFI blir leia av direktør og eit styre med ti representantar. Norsk filminstitutt forvaltar tilskottsordningar regulerte i Forskrift om tilskudd til audiovisuelle produksjoner av 7. september 2009. I tillegg forvaltar instituttet tilskott til utvikling og støtte til filmkulturelle tiltak. Alt talmaterialet i denne rapporten som vedkjem kinobesøk eller billettinntekter for 2010, er basert på mellombels oppgåver frå Film & Kino. Endelege tal ligg ikkje føre idet rapporten vert gjort ferdig. Film & Kino melder at dei ventar at det berre vil vere mindre avvik mellom førebels og endelege statistiske oppgåver for 2010. Radio's very first play was broadcast from Station 2LO London on the 15th November 1922. The day after Broadcasting England first began and it was heard in the children's programme but the north region can probably boast the first adult play written for wireless. L. du Garde Peach was the author. It came from the British Broadcasting Company's Metrovix studio and was broadcast by Station 2ZY. By the start of the 1930s far more Northerners were hearing plays than seeing them in the theatre. They were produced by the likes of Jan Bussell, Cecil McGiven and by Edward Wilkinson. The radio dramatic feature became the invention and hallmark of Geoffrey Brideson and Frances Dillon, Olive Shapley and Joan Littlewood all working from North region. By the 1940s James R Gregson had started a school for Radio Playwrights at the Leeds Studios. No history of North Regional Broadcasting would be anywhere near compete without BBC Regional Drama's most distinguished name, that of Alfred Bradley who's with me now. 0:01:19 Alfred you joined in 1959?     What is a lighting director by Martin Kempton What is a lighting director? Simply put - a lighting director designs the lighting for multi-camera television productions. He or she instructs the crew of electricians in their work in addition to guiding the team of operators who usually sit with the LD in the lighting control room. All this while working closely with the director and the rest of the production team to deliver the best possible pictures. However, there's rather more to it than that, and on this page on the website I explain where LDs work, what kinds of shows LDs work on and give some of the background to what we do. It's important to point out right away that simple 'illumination' is actually a relatively unimportant part of our work. Current TV cameras are capable of operating in very low light levels so it would be quite possible to see what was going on in most studios simply by switching on the houselights. Fortunately, producers and directors realise that the result would look pretty awful. Another thing is also worth making clear – a lighting director is not an electrician. He or she might have been once, but an LD is not another name for a crew chief or gaffer. Most television LDs do not have electrical qualifications, although some may have. In any case, this is not a requirement of the job. The electrical supervisor (gaffer) is in charge of realising the LD’s design in the studio from the rigging and electrical point of view.

RED Production and the Cultural Politics of Place1 Andrew Spicer My work for Channel 4 is driven not by a dull plea for regional television, but for the more exhilarating thought that some of Britain’s best companies work from a regional base in creative cities far from London. We work in an industry that seems myopically obsessed with one creative city – London. It would be a great step forward if regulators and broadcasters could escape from this deeply parochial mindset. (Cosgrove in Kidd and Taylor 2002: 27). Our fundamental DNA is Mancunian. We’re a Manchester company in every sense. We were established here. We film here primarily. We’re based here, our offices are here. Most of our work is done here. We’re not interlopers who move in and out, or who open a brass-door company … and I think that impacts on our work and our taste and the things we make as well. Introduction The first epigraph above is the voice of Stuart Cosgrove in 2002 in his then role as Channel 4’s Head of Programmes, Nations and Regions advocating the importance of regional television production. Cosgrove identified RED Production in Manchester as one of a select number of small, dynamic companies that ‘by their nature, are closer to ideas, popular influences and cultural change’, which need to be nurtured and supported if the notorious metropolitan bias of UK broadcasting is to be challenged and a broad and diverse production base maintained. Fifteen years later, several of the other companies Cosgrove mentioned have folded but RED has continued to thrive to become the largest and most important television drama production company based outside London, and whose core identity, as its CEO Nicola Shindler makes clear, is Mancunian.
