The scheme would provide a much needed north-south link to the strategic walking and cycling network in Salford and connect into several other parts of the network including the Bridgewater Way, Tyldesley Loopline and the Monton-Roe Green Loopline. The route would also connect into key public transport nodes on the A580 and Walden train station. Members of the board were highly supportive of the scheme and commended all those concerned on the preparatory work carried out so far, and on all that they had done to create and improve the city’s cycling and walking infrastructure to date.
