Part 4: Recreate a Work of Art

Here is a challenge from the Getty museum: http://blogs.getty.edu/iris/getty-artworks-recreated-with-household-items-by- creative-geniuses-the-world-over/

We challenge you to recreate a work of art with objects (and people) in your home.

➢ Choose your favorite artwork from the museum websites you visited. ➢ Recreate the artwork with objects in your home. ➢ You can also use yourself, your family, your pets; use your imagination. ➢ Photograph your re-creation and post it side by side with the original artwork on your Google Site.

HOW TO CREATE A GOOGLE SITE

Create a Google Site to showcase your museum visit.

Go to your Google Drive > Select the Google App dots

Select Sites > Select New Google Sites

Select the “+ Blank” to create your new site

Where it says “Untitled Site” change that to “Your first and last name”

Where it says “Your Page Title” list the four museums that you visited.

Create a NEW PAGE for each part of the assignment.

To INSERT images > select Insert > click on images > choose upload or select > insert

To INSERT images from DRIVE > click on From Drive > select your image > insert

To add a TEXT BOX > click on Text Box > you can then begin to type in the text box – if you need to move the text box you can click on it and drag it to where you need it to go.

You can also use the premade LAYOUTS to add images with connected text boxes. Just click on a layout and it should appear in the next empty space on your site. You can easily move the layout templates around by clicking on them and dragging them to where you want them.

For PART 3 – For the interview with your artwork, type your interview in a Google Doc, check your spelling and grammar, and then copy and paste the body of text directly into a text box in your Google Site.

Be sure to PUBLISH and SHARE the link with your teacher.
