INOVISH JOURNAL, Vol. 2, No. 2, December 2017 ISSN: 2528-3804 AN ANALYSIS OF THE DOMINANCE OF MINANG DIALECT IN KERINCI SOCIETY Okti Wilymafidini1 1Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Administrasi Nusantara Sakti (STIA-NUSA) Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Administrasi Nusantara Sungai Penuh Kerinci Jambi Telp & Fax. (0748) 22872 Email: [email protected] Abstract: This research aims at explaining the dominance of Minang Dialect in Kerinci Society, the factors that influence the dominance of Minang Dialect in Kerinci society and the way to maintain Kerinci language from the influence of Minang language. This is a descriptive research because it described data and characteristics about the phenomenon being studied. The data was gotten through observation. Besides, the researcher also did library research and compared to the theory used to answer the problems in this research. From the data conducted, it can be seen that the dominance of Minang dialects in Kerinci society can be found in the market and in the restaurants. It means that Kerinci language is influenced by Minang language. This is due to Kerinci and Minang are neighbors. Besides, Minang people who stay in Kerinci always use Minang language especially in doing selling and buying transaction and this gives influence to the use of Kerinci language. Thus, to maintain Kerinci language, there are some steps that can be done such as standardization of Kerinci language, so that people know which one is Kerinci language and which one is not. Besides, Kerinci language dictionary should be available and people have to use the original language of Kerinci instead of Minang language in daily communication. -

The research aimed to compare the typology of lebak swamps and potential rice production before and after the landfilling. Spatial data were obtained using Landsat imagery interpretation in 1987 and 2016. Attribute data was collected using questionnaires and sampling technique was done using disproportionate random sampling method. Typologies of lebak swamps consisted of lebak lebung, deep lebak, middle lebak, levee lebak, shallow lebak and dry land. After landfilling, dry land covers an area of 1,964 ha (72.73%), while the lebak swamp was decreased by approximately 736 ha (27.27%). Before landfilling, soil orders were found based on its dominance, namely Histosols, Entisols, Inceptisols and Gelisols. After landfilling, composition of soil order was dominated by Entisol, Inceptisol, Gelisols and Histosols. Before landfilling rice yields were produced about 3,240 tons of milled dry rice (MDR)/year, and rice production potency is now only about 506.25 tons of MDR/year. BMC Public Health (2020) 20:933 https://doi.org/10.1186/s12889-020-09035-3 RESEARCH ARTICLE Open Access Determinants of healthcare facility utilization for childbirth in Kuantan Singingi regency, Riau province, Indonesia 2017 Rajunitrigo Sukirman1,2, Tri Yunis Miko Wahyono1 and Siddharudha Shivalli3,4* Abstract Background: Reducing maternal mortality ratio (MMR) is a high priority public health issue in developing countries such as Indonesia. The current MMR in Indonesia is 126/100,000 live births. Optimum use of available healthcare facilities for delivery can avert maternal deaths. This study aimed to determine the factors associated with healthcare facility utilization for childbirth in Kuantan Singingi regency, Riau province, Indonesia 2017. Methods: We conducted a community-based cross-sectional study in 15 sub-districts of Kuantan Singingi regency from May–June 2017. We selected 320 mothers from 15 sub-districts who delivered in the last 3 months (February– April 2017). Trained data enumerators collected the relevant data by using a pre-tested semi-structured questionnaire. We used Cox regression analysis to determine the factors associated with delivery at healthcare facilities. Prevalence Ratio (PR) with a 95% confidence interval (CI) for childbirth at healthcare facilities was the key outcome measure. Results: Only 54.4% (174) of the 320 mothers delivered at healthcare facilities. Knowledge about pregnancy danger signs (PR = 1.59, 95%CI:1.15–2.2), attitude towards healthcare services (PR = 0.79, 95%CI:0.33–1.89), and access to health care services (PR = 0.39, 95%CI:0.18–0.84) were the dominant factors of childbirth at healthcare facilities.
