(Notice5) Somerset County Council District of Sedgemoor & Mendip Parishes of Brent Knoll, Lympsham,Wedmore, Rodney Stoke, Chapel Allerton, Cheddar, Brean and Weare Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and after giving notice to the Chief Officer of Police, hereby makes the following Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along the roads specified in the schedule to this Order:- This order will enable Gigaclear to carry out reinstatement works in this road. The Order became effective on 26th day of June 2018 and remains in force for eighteen months. While the closure is in operation an alternative route will be signed as detailed below. This Order is required to facilitate highway works and is necessary for the safety of the workforce whilst carrying out their duties. The restriction shall apply when indicated by traffic signs. She had been a family friend for many years having helped us in the house when we were children. She had a wonderfully retentive memory, and after she had been reminiscing about life in the village, we asked her to write down some of her memories. She was rather diffident about such an undertaking, but sometime afterwards we received a notebook through the post, containing her recollections. This was the start of the book. Chrissie's memories are not necessarily in chronological order, as they were random jottings, but we feel this in no way detracts from its interest.

Summary of Decision: I dismiss the appeal. Procedural Matters 1. The Inquiry sat on 7-10, 14-17 and 22-23 August. On the accompanied visit I visited a number of locations in and around Brent Knoll and I also carried out unaccompanied visits during and after the Inquiry to viewpoints suggested by the parties and to wind turbines near Swaffham in Norfolk, as requested by the Appellant and Knoll to Windfarm (KNOLL). On the last named visits I saw the Swaffham 1 and 2 turbines and the North Pickenham Windfarm at close quarters and from a range of viewpoints in the surrounding area; these turbines are comparable in scale to those in the appeal proposal1.

We have much pleasure in recommencing in this issue our column of Local Notes and Queries which proved such a popular feature of this paper for 20 years, but which we were compelled to discontinue for a time owing to difficulties created by the war. We are particularly anxious that this column should consist as far as possible of notes, queries and replies contributed by our readers themselves, and it will very largely depend upon the assistance we receive from them in this direction whether or not the feature shall be continued.
