Steve Bennett At the time of writing, we are busy making preparations in order to open our Chapel for Pentecost on 23rd May. It’s been over fourteen months since we will have shared worship in church together, and we are all aware that things will look quite different. We have followed the strict guidelines set out by the Methodist Church to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our congregation. Face coverings must be worn, sanitisers will be at the door and we will all observe social distancing. The church will also have undergone a deep clean before we open. Pentecost marks the time of the coming of the Holy Spirit. It was the Holy Spirit which galvanised those first disciples into action. Which empowered them and transformed them from a group of people who were afraid and uncertain, keeping themselves to themselves, into courageous men and women who went out into the World in faith to do the work Jesus had set for them - to spread the Good News to all people. As restrictions lift, I’m sure we can all relate to how those disciples must have felt. For many of us, it may have been a long time since we were indoors with loved ones. Since we were able to cautiously hug our nearest and dearest. And as this Country opens up, we will continue to pray for a brighter and safer future and, of course, we will continue to hold you all in our prayers. God bless. Rosemary Krull Toddlers The Teddies and Toddler Toys are having a break this month and we are off to the seaside. We are busy packing and have decided to take both sun cream and raincoats as you never know if it will be sunny or rainy. We are very excited, especially about feeling the sand in our paws or toes; finding the hidden wonders living in rockpools; searching for shells; paddling in the sea; flying kites and eating ice-creams. We will let you know what we got up to in next month’s article. Birthdays in June: Albert on 7th, Gill on 13th and Sarah on 15th so “Happy Birthday” to you all. We miss the happy times we had, and long for the day when we can play together again but sadly, we are still unable to meet. We hope you, your families and friends are keeping safe and well.
