Since that time the gaps identified in processes and procedures have been addressed by the relevant local, regional and national agencies in order to develop improved responses. The Local Resilience Forum has implemented an Exercise and Training sub-group who manage this process throughout Devon and Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The Regional Resilience Team at Government Office for the South West has worked with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Civil Contingencies Secretariat to incorporate the lessons into national guidance.
