ANNUAL CERTIFICATION OF COMPLIANCE FOR MANUFACTURER OF CIGARETTES AND/OR “ROLL-YOUR-OWN” TOBACCO (To be filed by manufacturers who do not participate in the Master Settlement Agreement) For sales made within Michigan during the 2002 calendar year Amendments in 2002 to the Tobacco Products Tax Act (1993 PA 327) support enforcement of the escrow requirements for tobacco product manufacturers who are not participating in the tobacco Master Settlement Agreement (1999 PA 244). The amendments require that non-participating manufacturers (NPM’s) provide to the State, and anyone who sells their cigarettes and/or ‘roll-your-own’ tobacco for consumption in Michigan, an annual certification of compliance. By providing the certification, they are attesting to the fact that they have met their escrow obligation under Act 244. The amendments prohibit anyone in Michigan from acquiring, possessing, or selling cigarettes and/or ‘roll-your-own’ tobacco manufactured by an NPM who has failed to provide the certification. The Act provides severe penalties for NPM’s, or anyone selling the cigarettes and/or ‘roll-your-own’ tobacco of NPM’s, for failure to comply with the requirements. The cigarettes, including ‘roll-your-own’ tobacco, of an NPM who has failed to provide the annual certification required by the Tobacco Products Tax Act are subject to seizure or confiscation from anyone in possession of them. If an NPM or any other person does not comply with these requirements, they may be subject to a civil fine not to exceed $1,000.00 per violation, in addition to other penalties that may be imposed under this act or the revenue act. -

Orange St. Hillsborough Budget Message 1 May 24, 2021 Honorable Mayor Weaver and Board of Commissioners: Submitted is Hillsborough’s FY22‐24 Annual Budget Workbook. The budget is prepared in accordance with the North Carolina Local Government Budget and Fiscal Control Act. As this proposed document is transmitted from the town manager to the Board of Commissioners, it now becomes the governing body’s budget to review, question, debate, adapt and ultimately adopt. It is expected that changes will be made to the proposed budget as new information becomes available and alternatives are considered. Town staff is ready to provide whatever information the board deems necessary to make well‐informed decisions on the budget and financial plan. Therefore, the mayor, Board of Commissioners, advisory boards, and the community are encouraged to share their views regarding what should be funded or modified because this is ultimately your budget! Approach to Developing the FY22 Budget For quite a few years, the motto used by the town board and staff when building Hillsborough’s annual budget and multi‐year financial plan has been: “take care of what we already have.” This refers to the town’s infrastructure, equipment, buildings, employees, and systems. The town’s mission, vision, strategic priorities, and objectives can’t be implemented if these basic tools of service implementation are not in working order. The longer a municipality waits to address, repair, or replace these assets (tangible and intangible), the more expensive it becomes in the long term. -

Pola, a passionate dancer, struggles with her own past -- her love for her soul mate Rachel and a terrible event that binds her to Elisabetta. And yet, a gentle companionship starts to form between the two women. Beate Teresa Hanika was born in Regensburg in 1976 and has already written several highly acclaimed young-adult novels that have been awarded among others the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize and nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize. The Apricot Girl is her first novel for adults. -
