    Vespertilio 9–10: 33–56 , 2006 ISSN 1213-6123 The bat fauna of the Aggtelek National Park and its surroundings (Hungary) Sándor BOLDOGH Aggtelek National Park Directorate, H–3758 Jósvafő, Tengerszem-oldal 1., Hungary; [email protected] Abstract. The bat fauna of the Gömör-Torna Karst region has been studied for several decades, in par ti cu lar that of the Aggtelek Karst (Hungary). The earliest research was mainly conducted in the well-known Baradla cave system, whilst other sites in the region were somewhat neglected. At the end of the 1980s a new research programme started, when studies on house-dwelling bat species and a comparative analysis of results was systematically carried out. These results played an important role in the conservation strategies for the protection of roosts (e.g. in churches). Some of these roosts were of international im por tan ce. During the third period of research, a survey of man-made caverns and of forest-dwelling bat po pu la ti ons began. This research revealed that 26 bat species inhabited the administrative area of the Aggtelek National Park (24 species in the proper area of the national park). These fi gures prove that there is a very rich bat fauna in terms of both species and their populations. The latest faunistical studies and the pro te cti on of these populations have both signifi cantly improved our knowledge on the distribution and occur ren ce of several species. At the same time, it became necessary to reassess all previous data. The Minister will publish the invitation to tender, adjudge the bids and conclude the concession contract in coopera­ tion with the Hungarian Mining and Geological Service (MBFSZ) in accordance with the Concessions Act and the Mining Act. Bids that meet the tender specifications will be evaluated by an Evaluation Committee set up by the Minister.     DEVELOPMENT OF WATER QUALITY MONITORING STATION Vörös Csaba research scientist, head of department University of Miskolc Research Institute of Applied Earth Science H-3515 Miskolc, Egyetemváros ABSTRACT The staff of the University of Miskolc supported by a Hungarian GOP project has been developed a easy-to-mobilize multi-parameter water quality investigation station. During the station construction we performed instrumental, mechanical, electronics and information technology tasks. At the begining of the current project we selected a Hungarian river-section where we wish the whole, multi-point measuring-network will be realize. We had been walked around the whole selected area and mapped the suitable sub-areas where the system could be realise. After that we reviewed the similar implemented projects and based on the experiences and prepared the primary plans of our station. We reviewed the available water quality sensor offers and compared with the most important water quality parameters. With the selected sensors we had make calibration measurements and for that developed some unique level-interface electronics. In addition developed a suitable sensor- carrier-body and formed the conditions the immersion in water. For the physical design we had developed and realised the whole measuring station which operate by a stand-alone solar-cell solution. Two microcontroller which are on different levels and communicate with each other process the signals from the sensors. The measured parameters are transmitted to the server station via wireless GPRS communication. With the help of server station the measured data can be view on the internet as well as adjustable the system. Finally installed the whole system on the selected area.

KORSÓS , E. LAZÁNYI and G. HEGYESSY Abstract. New data of millipedes from 92 sites in Northeastern Hungary are presented, based on the examination of more than 1300 individuals. The studied regions were the Zemplén Mountains and its surrounding plains, the Hernád valley and the Bodrogköz area. Altogether 25 millipede species were found, two Carpathian species are new to the fauna of Hungary: Leptoiulus liptauensis (Verhoeff, 1899) and Cylindroiulus burzenlandicus (Verhoeff, 1907).
