Storia Del Motocross
STORIA DEL MOTOCROSS: La storia del Motocross comincia all’inizio del 20° secolo quando il primo evento ebbe luogo in Gran Bretagna. Al termine della seconda Guerra Mondiale, il livello dello sport iniziò ad evolversi da una dimensione nazionale fino a quella internazionale quando il primo campionato Europeo individuale ebbe luogo nel 1952. La nuova classe fu istituita per moto di 500cc e il primo vincitore fu il belga Victor Leloup in sella ad una FN. Qualche anno prima in Olanda nel 1947 si disputò il Motocross delle nazioni ad oggi l’evento off-road più importante del mondo. La gara fu vinta dalla Gran Bretagna che si aggiudicò il primo Chamberlain Trophy. Da allora questo evento speciale si disputò annualmente con l’aggiunta del Trofeo delle Nazioni (un altro evento a cadenza annuale) dal 1961 al 1984 e la Coppa delle Nazioni (sempre annualmente) dal 1981 al 1984. Attualmente gli Stati Uniti sono la nazione che detiene il maggior numero di vittorie, 19. 1957-1972 Dal campionato Europeo al Campionato del Mondo. I primi nomi sono quelli di Joel Robert (250cc) e Roger De Coster (500cc). Dopo 5 anni di Campionato Europeo, il motocross fece un notevole balzo in avanti, quando il torneo venne promosso a Campionato del Mondo nel 1957 – il vincitore fu lo svedese Bill Nilsson in sella ad una moto AJS. Sempre nel 1957, la prima Coppa Europa per moto di 250cc fu creata per venire incontro alla crescente popolarità di questa disciplina. Questa Coppa durò solo 2 anni per essere poi promossa con lo status di Campionato Europeo nel 1959. -
