Montenegro’s meandering coastline, backed by dramatic limestone mountains, gives on to the serene blue waters of the Adriatic. And while Croatia, to the north west, has grown in popularity, few Britons drive two hours down the coast from Dubrovnik to the ancient town of . Founded by the Greeks in the fourth century BC, and then fortified during the Middle Ages, the town forms the heart of the “”, which runs 22 miles from Trsteno to , and is dotted with a series of sheltered coves and eight miles of sand and pebble beaches.

Getting there Budva is 12 miles from airport, 40 miles from airport and 60 miles from Dubrovnik airport, in Croatia. Alternatively, you can fly to Dubrovnik and drive down the coast to Budva.

A five-minute stroll east along a narrow coastal path lie the pebble beaches of Mogren I and II. On the way, note the bronze sculpture of a ballet dancer, a symbol of Budva, performing a graceful arabesque as she gazes out to sea. Mogren I is backed by cliffs, and connected to Mogren II by a short tunnel.

Skip Slovenska Plaza, a one-mile strip of greyish sand west of town, which is overlooked by restaurants and late-night bars, and is crowded with sunloungers. For more secluded bathing, head to the small island of Sveti Nikola (known to locals as Hawaii) by taxi-boat from Budva’s seafront promenade. Covered by pinewoods and fragrant Mediterranean vegetation, it has a few beaches and a restaurant. Best of all, you can rent a kayak and paddle around to the south side to reach several isolated coves.

Also east of Budva, the one-mile long beach at Becici is managed by the several large hotels that overlook it, with waiter service, beds and a parasol. Short Montenegro Tour / 4 hours

Although this is the shortest tour we offer, it will give you the opportunity to see the diversity of the Montenegrin coast, in only 4 hours. This four hours day tour includes photo stops above , Budva old town and St.Stefan island, then visit the Old Town of Budva for a short walking tour and some free time and finally back to the starting position where we finish this tour.

After a brief introduction to our representative, we begin this day trip. Budva is considered to be one of the oldest settlements on the Balkan Peninsula. The Old Town of Budva lies on a little island that was linked to the land by a sandbar and in time turned into a peninsula. Inside the walls of the town, there is a combination of narrow streets and little squares with valuable monuments of different Mediterranean cultures.

Here everyone will find something for oneself. The Old City is a living exhibition space that hosts a number of events in the atmosphere of the original streets and piazzas rather insignificant. In addition to walking and photographing, Budva is the ideal place to relax or to have a coffee or lunch.

After a few minutes of driving, we will stop to view the Jaz beach, place where was a concert of Rolling Stones and .

Next photo stop is on the lookout from where we can enjoy the view on the island Sveti Stefan - luxurious resort that once used to be a small fishing village, first mentioned in the middle of 15th century. This small island is connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus. In total there is about 1 mile of pink sand beaches. The island is private property so it can only be photographed from the shoreline. It was visited, by the Queen of England Elisabeth II, Italian King Umberto II of Savoy, then Sophia Loren, Doris Day,

Geraldine Chaplin, Kirk Douglas, Sidney Poitier, Richard Widmark, and writers Andre Malraux and Alberto Moravia and many others. You will love it.

At the foot of the Lovcen mountain ridge, in one of the most exotic encounters of land and sea, stands the island of Sveti Stefan. As legend has it, a fort was built on the island in 1442 when it was first settled. The island was fortified by walls so families from the surrounding villages could find shelter from Turkish and pirate attacks.

According to legend, the settlement was founded after a Pastrovic band bested the crew of a Turkish galley, and with the booty they seized a fort was built with one house for each of the twelve Pastrovic clans. On the terrace above the entrance to Sveti Stefan for decades the Pastrovic court meted out justice and resolved disputes, the spot known as the “place of justice”. Sveti Stefan has three churches: the church of St. Stephen, after which the island was named, located on the highest point on the island, the church of Alexander Nevski, and the smallest one dedicated to the Transfiguration, at the very entrance to the town, joined by a narrow embankment with the mainland.

Spirit of the Sveti Stefan Here tales of pride and patriotism were told, history blending harmoniously with the beautiful environs. In their long history Sveti Stefan, Milocer and Budva have been visited by many travelers, coming to admire the splendors of a small spot that has always proudly opened its doors, offering an experience of unprecedented beauty. This magnificent region has always welcomed all travelers, known and unknown, who have come or will come to admire its rare beauty, giving generously to those who know how to appreciate its values, ever ennobling, awakening in everyone a feeling for all that is eternal and indestructible.

More about the tour: We start this tour with a scenic drive through Budva Riviera , we continue to via Brajici. Driving to Cetinje is approximately 40 minutes long, and belongs to a panoramic drive. The road leads to the interior of Montenegro. With a gazebo from the village Brajici through which the road passes is a magnificent view of Budva and Budva Riviera.

As we drive that way, during this tour, it can happen to see paragliders who use Brajici springboard/airfield with its 850meters altitude. Pause in the lookouts will take away more 5 minutes of our time. Cetinje is known as the historical and cultural capital of Montenegro, and two buildings for which the city is most recognizable are Cetinje Monasteryt and Njegoševa Biljarda (Billiard House). is one of the most visited religious centers in Montenegro. Tourists and believers there can bow to relics of St. Peter, but besides many icons, the iconostases and church relics, impressive and mystical works, in the monastery is the ark in which are the relics of St. Peter. Monastery of how it looks today was built in 1701.

Billiard House, the former residence of Petar II Petrovic Njegoš was built in 1838, is a place where a visitor can properly feel the time, circumstances and conditions in which the great Montenegrin secular and spiritual leader, poet, and philosopher, made his most important works. Petar II Petrović Njegoš was a Prince-Bishop of Montenegro and the Serbian Orthodox Metropolitan of Cetinje, a philosopher, and poet, whose work is considered responsible for the modernization of Montenegro. His most famous work ‘’Gorski Vijenac” ("") in was rated as "the ingenious creator of the manuscript".

From Cetinje, we continue our trip to Njegusi village. Njegusi is the village near Cetinje and it's crucial for the and strongly attached to Cetinje. In the village, there is a house of Bishop Petar Petrovic Njegoš.

About the historical importance of Njegusi to Montenegro, it is not easy even to describe the magnificent view and the beauty of nature to modern tourists. This is a place you simply have to see, to experience, to taste. The road to Njegusi was the only link with Cetinje and Kotor and with all Montenegrin coast. The road constantly rises and reaches an altitude of 1000 m height that provides fantastic views from this road to the "Bride of the Adriatic". The view is hard to describe in words. Each serpentine, and there are 25 of them, presents a spectacular view of the breathtaking Boka Kotorska Bay.

During the trip, along with the way, there is also a bar-restaurant which is open from when the road went through this village in 1881. This is the right place if you want to try Montenegrin specialties - Njegus ham and cheese and grape brandy and homemade wine. While coming down and nearing the end of our ride we will stop once at Trojica hill to take photos and slowly enter the city crowds of Kotor.

Perast is a quiet and peaceful place. Especially interesting is an island near the city named Gospa od Skrpjela, the only artificially constructed island in the and church on the island, built in 1667... In Perast we stay for about 30 minutes. We’re returning back to Kotor where you have time to research this beautiful medieval city. Return back to hotel...

The Old Town of Kotor is a well preserved medieval urban environment typical of the towns built in the XII and XIV centuries. A great number of historical monuments have made Kotor a UNESCO listed "World Natural and Historical Heritage Site"

The Blue Cave Famous for the iridescent blue that's reflected throughout the cave, the Blue Cave is one of Montenegro's most popular attractions. .

The Blue Cave on Lustica Peninsula is one of the must-see attractions while you’re on the coast. The cave is the largest of many caves both above and under the water on Lustica Peninsula. We’ve spent untold hours in summer exploring the little nooks and crannies of Lustica Peninsula. In the past we’ve found a tiny hidden beach that you can only get to by swimming through a cave. There are also underwater cave systems here than you can explore on diving trips. It’s called the Blue Cave because the way the light hits the sandy bottom and reflects up through the water makes the whole cave look blue. It’s very beautiful and it’s a lucky quirk because almost all of the coast here is rocky, not sandy. You can see the blue light shining out of the cave when you approach, but to really see it you’ve got to go inside and get underwater. Don’t forget your snorkel or goggles when you come here!

The water is only about 5 metres deep and then goes much deeper further inside the cave. This part is rocky rather than sandy and if you bring your snorkel or goggles you’ll be able to see some small fish swimming about. The ceiling is about 9m high so there’s plenty of room for boats to come in. The tour boats will come and give you a chance to get out, have a swim, snorkel and explore before they set off again. You can explore the cave for 10-15 minutes and then head off to the next stop.

Swimming inside the cave; Although there are a lot of tour boats visiting here, especially in July and August, it’s never overcrowded because you don’t need a lot of time to see the cave. Kayak and snorkel your way

to the Blue Cave on Montenegro’s rugged and beautiful Lustica Peninsula. The tour includes a transfer to Lustica Peninsula and then a 2 hour kayak tour which takes you into the Blue Cave which is famed for it's iridescent blue colour. You can also take the chance to snorkel in Lustica's amazingly clear waters. Tour Details : 5 hours (approx)/ Price: From €60 per person
