Tour Itinerary Wed., Oct. 7 – HARTFORD AREA / EN ROUTE Today we transfer from the Hartford area to Chicago’s O'Hare International Airport where we board our non-stop trans-Atlantic flight traveling to Dublin, Ireland. (I) Thurs., Oct. 8 – DUBLIN / BELFAST As the sun rises on the Irish coast we will arrive in Dub- lin. Here we are met by our Irish Driver/Guide who will travel with us throughout the tour. From Dublin we journey into Northern Ireland to arrive in Belfast for an afternoon sightseeing tour. We’ll see the grounds of Queens University and travel along the Golden Mile to Donegal Square where we’ll see the ornate Victorian buildings that include the Grand Opera House and the Crown Liquor Saloon, before stopping to visit the impos- ing City Hall. Afterward, we’ll see both St. Anne’s Ca- thedral and the Albert Memorial Clock Tower, as we make our way out to the main Catholic and Protestant areas that were home to the bloody battle grounds of the “Troubles.” Today these areas are commemorated with wall murals, memorials and gardens. We then visit the Titanic Belfast to learn about this famous liner which was one of the many ships built in the shipyards in 1912, when the ship building industry thrived. Our tour ends at our hotel where we enjoy an included dinner. (I,D) Sun., Oct. 11 – DONEGAL / GALWAY Following breakfast we depart Donegal and drive through Fri., Oct. 9 – BELFAST / DONEGAL northwest Ireland to the border city of Belleek. Next, we visit the town of Adara where make a visit to the Triona Design Donegal Tweed Center where the tweed is still woven with the same traditional skills that have been used for centuries. As well as manufacturing fine Done- gal tweed and wool garments, visitors can also learn the fine art of hand weaving tweed. We return to Donegal where we visit the historic Donegal Castle. (B) Mon., Oct. 12 – GALWAY / KILLARNEY An amazing day is in store as we drive to the Atlantic Coast to view the majestic Cliffs of Moher, a rocky wall that rises nearly 700 feet above the foaming Atlantic Ocean. Then we visit a local farm where you’ll become enchanted by the thatched roof cottage and the amazing sheep dogs at work herding the flocks of sheep. We enjoy tea and scones at the farm as we learn about their daily lives. Next we take a short ferry ride across the River Shannon Estuary to the mountainous countryside of Kerry. A short drive remains to the delightful town of Killarney and our hotel. This evening dinner is included at our hotel. We visit Trinity College to view the 8th century Book of Kells, an illuminated manuscript of the gospels. Then visit the Guinness Storehouse to see exhibits on how this world famous stout was first created and why it is so popular today. Finish your visit in the roof-top bar, Gravity, overlooking the city center where you can sample a draft Guinness and enjoy the view of the city. The remainder of the day is at leisure in Dublin. In the evening head to the Merry Ploughboy Pub for a great dinner of Irish specialties and a lively show with popular Irish songs and intricate step-dancing. In the event of a marked increase or decrease in foreign currency or in tariff rates, the cost is subject to revision. TOUR PRICING: This is a package tour in which land tour costs and special group airfares have been combined in the most ad- vantageous way. Should you wish to take the land tour only or deviate from the package tour by changing your departure and/or return dates of travel, this will eliminate the advantages of the package tour price and special group airfares. There will be a service charge of $100 per person for altering the airline itinerary, plus any additional charges assessed by the airlines. CANCELLATION: If after making your initial deposit you find it necessary to cancel from the tour for any reason, there will be a charge of $100 per person up to 90 days prior to departure.
