By its very nature the short story affords the writer the opportunity to introduce swiftly any developments in ideology, theme or style. Scholars have interpreted Chinese fiction published during 1979 as indicative of a "change" in the development of 20th century Chinese literature. This study examines a number of short stories from 1979 in order to determine the extent of that "change". The first two chapters concern the establishment of a representative database and the adoption of viable methods of interpretation. An important, although much neglected, phenomenon in the make-up of 1979 literature are the works which appeared in so-called "nonofficial" journals. -

His works are often themed on rural life. Contrary to the case in Turkey, researches on rural life in China have advanced on a continuous basis since the 20s of the 20th century in China. This can be explained with the fact that primarily Mo Yan and Jia Pingwa, as prominent novelists in China, never stopped writing on villages, villagers and inner world of peasants that endeavoured to lead the life in the city as they did back in the village. In this brief research study, we try to discuss in what way Mo Yan touched on the pastoral literature in his works. 1 Chapter 3: China Proper: The Household as a Complex Human Ecosystem The people can go for a hundred years without money, but they cannot starve for a single morning, thus food is the most urgent thing. Liu Tao For at least a thousand years, since the Song period, the Intensive Agricultural Zone of China Proper has supported one of the world’s highest densities of population per unit of agricultural land. Supporting this population has depended on extremely intense level of land use and a continued process of further intensification, a process that was particularly rapid in the Qing period, from 1644 to 1911. At such high levels of intensity, most natural ecological buffers against disturbance have been sacrificed for gains in productivity. This has forced people to compensate for lost ecological resilience by strengthening infrastructural and institutional buffers. But the infrastructural and institutional buffers, in turn, require intensive upkeep, and if the upkeep fails, there is not much resilience left in the system, so that disturbances easily create ecological crises, something that has happened frequently in the last two hundred years. In this chapter, I first describe the spatial structure of China Proper. I then proceed to a detailed analysis of how the household, as the smallest-scale socio-ecosystem, was organized to attempt to buffer itself against these ever-looming disasters. In doing so, I explore the idea that traditional Chinese intensive agriculture was “everyday sustainable,” in Eugene Anderson’s words, at a household scale. This sets the stage for Chapter 6, where I examine how even a society and culture organized to buffer itself against disturbances lost resilience in the face of huge socio-ecosystem changes during the Qing: population growth, increase in cultivated land, and increase in the amount of water used to irrigate that land. -

Marquez used magical techniques to describe the tortuous and legendary experiences of several generations of the Buendia family in the small town. Through the refraction of the magical realm, it indirectly reflects the history of Latin America and the cruel real life, and expresses people's desire for independence and stability. Compared with other Western literary schools, magic realism is one of the literary schools that have a profound influence on the development of modern and contemporary Chinese literature. This article mainly analyzes the magical beauty of One Hundred Years of Solitude and its influence on Chinese literature through magic realism. Abstract. Jia Pingwa's novels and Mo Yan's novels have similarities in the narrative perspective, but also different, but more than the same. Jia Pingwa's novels are mainly based on the narrative of "scattered thinking", and the use of the "third-person perspective". Mo Yan’s novels use "self-centered thinking" and use "composite perspective". The novels of the two have "non - state narrative perspective", and in this way the modern civilization and human nature "alienation" made a profound criticism and reflection. Introduction Jia Pingwa and Mo Yan in the narrative strategy of the novel are consciously seeking change, continue to explore, their narrative art of classical Chinese literature and Western modern literature narrative art to make their novels have achieved high artistic achievements. Mo Yan won the Nobel Prize for Literature, one of the important reasons is that he in the narrative art and realistic care level to the Western literary readers to show the height of the Chinese writers reached. Jia Pingwa's novel also shows his personal artistic characteristics and height. In the novel narrative perspective, Jia Pingwa and Mo Yan's novels are different, but more than the same. -

Prof. Nicoletta Pesaro Laureando Ruitao Jiang Matricola 865795 Anno Accademico 2018 / 2019 Sommario: Il lavoro della presente tesi consiste nella traduzione della novella La vita dello scrittore cinese contemporaneo Lu Yao (1949 Qingjian – 1992 Xi’an), uno dei narratori più conosciuti e letti in Cina grazie ai suoi romanzi La vita e Il Mondo ordinario. Le sue opere non hanno ottenuto altrettanta visibilità all’estero, in quanto non sono presenti molte traduzioni dei suoi romanzi in lingua straniera. La presente tesi, tramite l’introduzione dello scrittore, delle sue opere principali e la traduzione dei primi cinque capitoli del suo lavoro La vita, ha lo scopo di far conoscere a più lettori stranieri questo grande narratore cinese appartenente alla corrente del realismo, e di trovare il miglior metodo per la traduzione delle sue opere, affinché la traduzione possa trasmettere le caratteristiche originali del romanzo: stile di narrativa, personaggi e scrittura dialettale. Inoltre, essendo una tesi basata sulla traduzione, questa prevede approfondimenti sul lettore modello e sulle difficoltà di traduzione: parole e frasi dialettali, differenze culturali ed espressive.
