Attended Bishop’s Stortford College, 06/07/1926 then entered The Durham Light Infantry. In 1917 transferred into RFC. Resigned his commission in 1921, then joined the AAF in 1926. Assistant solicitor. Then Assistant Company Secretary of the Great Western Railway.9 Son of Sir Charles Collett, Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Great Western Railway and Lord Mayor of London in 1934. Obituary in The Times.10 Killed in a RAF display at Hendon, when his aircraft was wrecked in making a forced landing. Hiscox, Ralph 03/08/1929 Joined Roberts agency at Lloyd’s and started Syndicate 44, writing non-marine insurance in 1938. 1965 elected chairman of Lloyds. Hiscox company history22 Isaac, John Noel 27/08/1933 The first Briton to die on active service in the Second World War. Whilst practising single- engined approaches and landings, he had spun in on Hendon Old Town and had been killed instantly. The aircraft caught fire and burned three houses, but no civilians were killed or hurt. He had a second class honours degree from Jesus College, Oxford University. He was born on December 18th 1910 in the small village of Dinas Powis, Glamorgan, the son of Wilfred John and Rosalind May Isaac. Member of the Royal Aero Club, Piccadilly, London. Died 12th December 1955 aged 59.26 Lancaster, Dent Hugh Turner 02/09/1926 Born on 27th June 1904.27 Larking, Jack Cuthbert 23/11/1926 Lea, Robert Francis Gore 22/07/1932 Second son of Sir Sydney Lea and Lady Lea of Dunsley Hall, Stourport, Worcestershire.Marriage announcement in The Times.28 Lloyd, George Ambrose 16/09/1926 Baron of Dolobran. Born September 19th 1879, a Quaker, educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge, an oarsman Travelled extensively, became an oversees attaché and ambassador. MP for West Staffordshire. Governor of Bombay in 1918.
