Burnet Middle School Burnet Middle School is off to a great start. They are working to include more 6th graders, however their 7th and 8th graders are great. They practice every Monday after school. They have buddy lunch on Wednesdays during lunches. They go to gym, play games and work on social activities. On November 22nd, they had a Thanksgiving Feast with their Unified Partners and gave thanks for all of their friends. Burnet MS planned a Uni- fied Dodgeball tournament and Christmas Party for December. Stu- dents are learning the importance of team building and have partici- pated in “trust building activities.” It is great to see the leadership of the Club members. Office of Special Education Programs Page 4 U.S. Department of Education School Highlights November 2019 Lyndhurst Public School District The Lyndhurst Unified Clubs are up and running with high involvement in all schools. Students created posters advertising respect, kindness and unity as well as participated in physical activities during club meetings. Lyndhurst also created an instagram called lyndhurst_play_unified. Follow them to check out all the exciting events Lyndhurst is doing. Washington School K-2. Unified Club students were very excited to welcome Albuquerque Turkey who taught students a Thanksgiving dance. Following this, students went outside for relay races. Their Unified Club members enjoyed jumping and hopping to complete the relay race. Roosevelt 4-5. Unified Club members played sideline soccer, four square, and knock out. Students had a great time playing games and having a good time with their peers. Club members look forward to their Tuesday meet- ings each month. Lincoln 4-5. Unified Club students got outside and enjoyed the nice weather. Students partici- pated in team building and Thanksgiving themed activities. Jefferson 4-5. Unified Club students used the school gym to participate in a series of physical activities and team building activities. Roosevelt, Lincoln and Jefferson 6/7/8. Unified Club members competed in sideline soccer and relay races. Students participated in a series of team building activities. Students also had the option to participate in board games and giant jenga outside of the gym. Their meetings give students an opportu- nity to participate in a mix of all different activities. The goal is for all mem- bers to find something they enjoy participating in with their peers. Lyndhurst High School. The High School

The meeting of the Hunterdon County Board for Vocational Education was called to order at 7:01 p.m. by Board President – Elizabeth Martin. Ms. Martin stated that this meeting was being held in accordance with the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act. Adequate notice was given by prominently posting the meeting notice on the first floor of the County Administration Building, 71 Main Street, Flemington, New Jersey, a public place reserved for such announcements. The notice was sent to the Hunterdon County Democrat and by filing with the Hunterdon County Clerk a schedule of the time, date and place of the holdings of this meeting. Present were board members: Janice Kovach, Laurence Molloy, Michael Yates, Elizabeth Martin. Also present were Dr. Kimberly Metz – Superintendent, Susan Joyce – Business Administrator and Howard Vex, Board Attorney. Absent was Jeff Scott. Public Present: Polytech principal – Dan Kerr; Freeholder Liaison Ron Sworen. Public Comment: none Consent Agenda It was moved by Ms. Kovach, second by Mr. Yates to approve listed consent agenda items. 1.
