These notes are based upon 3 meetings on the 11th March 2016. This document will ultimately form an appendix to the final report for ‘The Operator’s Story’ piece. Although the findings have been arranged and structured by Imperial College London, they remain a collation of thoughts and statements from interviewees, and continue to be the opinions of those interviewed, rather than of Imperial College London. Prefacing the notes is a summary of Imperial College’s key findings based on comments made, which will be drawn out further in the final report for ‘The Operator’s Story’. Method This content is a collation in note form of views expressed in the interviews that were conducted for this study. This mini case study does not attempt to provide a comprehensive picture of Guangzhou Metropolitan Corporation (GMC), but rather focuses on specific topics of interest to The Operators’ Story project. It has served Guangzhou since 2010, and is 17 kilometers from the city center. It is one the four main railway stations in Guangzhou. The other three are Guangzhou Railway Station, Guangzhou North Railway Station, and Guangzhou East Railway Station. After its opening, Guangzhou South Railway Station has been gradually taking the leading role of train transport from Guangzhou Railway Station, becoming one of the six key passenger train hubs of China. Despite of its easy accessibility from every corner of the city, ticket-checking and waiting would take a long time so we strongly suggest you be at the station as least 2 hours prior to your departure time, especially if you haven’t bought tickets in advance. First National Conference on Zoology Biodiversity in a Changing World 28-30 November 2020 Abstracts Organized By Supported By: Foreword It is our pleasure to welcome you to the First National Conference on Zoology: Biodiversity in a Changing World on November 28–30, 2020 on a virtual platform. This conference is organized by the Central Department of Zoology and its Alumni on the occasion of the 55th Anniversary of the Department. This conference is supported by the IUCN Nepal, National Trust for Nature Conservation, WWF Nepal and Zoological Society of London Nepal office. The Central Department of Zoology envisioned three important strategies; teaching, research and extension of its strategic plan 2019 – 2023. The First National Conference is one of the most important extension activities of the Department in collaboration with leading conservation organizations of the country. We believe extension activities including national conference will help to mainstream zoology and make priority agenda of the government for research, faunal conservation, national development and employment. The main theme of the conference is “Biodiversity in a Changing World”, which is of utmost importance given global changes that species, ecosystem processes, landscapes and also people currently have to face together. Excessive exploitation of biological resources as well as global changes and the degradation of the natural environment have large-scale effects, some of which directly lead to the extinction of species and impacts on the health of people. The Conference provides us with the opportunity to meet, connect and learn from each other, share latest research results, and eventually envisage feasible means of conciliating human development and protect health of ecosystem and people with biodiversity conservation. -

It is an important significance to promote regional integration, which researches on intercity regulatory measures. Firstly, the theoretical basis of regional governance in the world was summarized, including regulatory agencies, channel construction, incentives. Secondly, the developmental route of Guangzhou–Foshan was combed, and macro-measures and specific traffic measures of regional integration were summarized from four stages. Finally, the current situation and the problems of public passenger transporta- tion intercity were analyzed, and five typical cases were chosen to analyze from urban planning, road construction, rail transportation, public passenger transportation, and success reasons of the case were analyzed deeply from reg- ulatory agencies, channel construction, incentives. Moreover, some development strategies were proposed from management mechanism, participants, information sharing, laws and regulations, which would provide certain inte- gration of public passenger transportation in China at regional scale.
