Public Law 86-409 April 5, 1960 AN ACT [S. 2482] To remove geographical limitations on activities of the Coast and Geodetic Survey, and for other purposes. Be it enacted hy the Senate and House of Representatives of the Coast and Geo detic Survey, United States of America in Congress a^semhled^ That the first sec tion of the Act entitled "An Act to define the functions and duties of the Coast and Geodetic Survey, and for other purposes", approved 61 Stat. 787. August 6,1947 (33 U.S.C, sec. 883a), is amended— (1) by striking out "in the United States, its Territories, and possessions"; (2) by striking out "of coastal water and land areas (including survey of offlying islands, banks, shoals, and other offshore areas)"; and (3) by striking out all of paragraph (2), and by renumbering paragraphs (3), (4), (6), and (6) as (2), (3), (4), and (5) respectively. Public Law 86-410 April S, 1960 AN ACT [H.R. 9599] To provide transportation on Canadian vessels between ports in southeastern Alaska, and between Hyder, Alaska, and other points in southeastern Alaska, and between Hyder, Alaska, and other iwints in the United States outside Alaska, either directly or via a foreign port, or for any part of the trans portation. Be it enacted hy the Senate and House of Representatives of the Canadian ves sels. United States of America in Congress assembled^ That, until June 30, Transportation, 1961, notwithstanding the provisions of law of the United States restricting to vessels of the United States the transportation of passengers and merchandise directly or indirectly from any port in the United States to another port of the United States, passengers may be transported on Canadian vessels between ports in southeastern Alaska, and passengers and merchandise may be transported on Canadian vessels between Hyder, Alaska, and other points in south eastern Alaska, and between Hyder, Alaska, and other points in the LTnited States outside Alaska, either directly or via a foreign port, or for any part of the transportation, unless the Secretary of Commerce determines that United States-flag service is available to provide such transportation. R. 2740] To amend section 2734 of title 10, United States Code, to extend the statute of limitations in the case of certain foreign claims. Be it enacted hy the Senate and House of Representatives of tlie United States of America in Congress assemhled, That section 2734(b) 70A Stat. 154. (1) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking out the words "one year" and inserting the words "two years" in place thereof. Approved April 8, 1960. .
