Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least. -

Die Toten Hosen – „Auswärtsspiel“ Der Ursprungsort der TOTEN HOSEN liegt irgendwo zwischen der Ratinger Straße in Düsseldorf – und dem „Okie Dokie“ in Neuss. In diesem winzig kleinen Klub stieg im Oktober 1981 das letzte Konzert der Punkrock-Truppe ZK, zu der Campino, Kuddel und ein bisschen auch Andi gehörten. Breiti, der bei diesem „Okie Dokie“-Konzert in der ersten Reihe gestanden hatte, gab wenig später seinen Einstand und der Nachfolgeband ein Glaubensbekenntnis mit auf den Weg: „Wir spielen so, wie wir Auto fahren: Nicht besonders gut, aber immer so schnell wie möglich." Diesem Erfolgsgeheimnis hat die Band bis heute nichts Wesentliches hinzuzufügen, außer ein paar Millionen verkaufter CDs, etlicher Gold- und Platinplatten und diversen Nummer 1-Hits in den Single- und Album-Charts. Tore, Punkte, Meisterschaften: Im Jahr 1988 schafften die TOTEN HOSEN mit „Hier kommt Alex" und dem Album „Ein kleines bißchen Horrorshow“ den Durchbruch. Seitdem sind sie aus den deutschen Charts nicht mehr wegzudenken. 1995 gründeten die fünf Bandmitglieder mit JKP (Jochens kleine Plattenfirma) ihr eigenes Label. Obwohl die HOSEN schon immer alles, was ihre Karriere anging, gründlich geprüft hatten, war dies der endgültige Schritt in die Autonomie. Ihr 1996 erschienenes Album „Opium fürs Volk“ wurde anschließend zu ihrem bisher größten Erfolg und verkaufte sich über eine Million Mal. Und 1999 erschien mit „Unsterblich“ nach vier Jahren Wartezeit ein weiteres Studioalbum, das gleich von 0 auf 1 in die deutschen Album-Charts einstieg. Beim Pionierversuch mit dem Medium Internet luden sich im selben Jahr innerhalb von 48 Stunden über 40.000 User das Stück „Schön sein“ von der bandeigenen Homepage - 1 - herunter. -
