ONTARIO POWER BOAT ASSOCIATION 2020 INFO & SPONSORSHIP

OPBRA was created to accommodate dramatic powerboat racing participation and spectator growth. It was also designed to further Canada’s proud powerboat racing heritage—dating back almost 100 years.

MISSION:

To develop and maintain a reference-standard organization with the most effective resources available.

COMMITMENT: Spectator oriented. Compelling racing. Consistency. Fairness.

MODUS OPERANDI: Powerboat racing done right.

Outboard drag boat racing is like automotive , except it’s 800’ at a time on water. The format is simple, but the action isn’t: Head-to-head racing has winners declared within seconds as boats accelerate harder than supercars or sport bikes with only wind, waves, and undersized cajones to thwart them. Spectators witness a to the finish every time with speeds up to and over 100 mph.

T-Boat racing is also a sprint to the finish. However, it takes 5 circuits in whitewater that mimics the spin cycle of a washing machine. Similar to sprint car racing, several boats are on the course at the same time, and things happen quickly when trying to balance a boat on the tip of a pencil in a hurricane. This could be the most entertaining type of racing with speeds up to 80 mph from boats that can almost fit in your back pocket.

In addition to racing, there are always plenty of dryland displays, demonstrations, vendors, and food options.

OPBRA delivers adrenaline-driven spectator and driver appeal with head-to-head and oval racing at speeds up to and over 100 mph. We combine some of the greatest sounds and sights of all — including maniacal 11,000-rpm 2-stroke outboard screams—with up- close-and-personal racing for unforgettable weekends. Off-water displays, vendors, and family-oriented activities complete the picture.

SIMPLY, THESE ARE THE FASTEST LAKE BOATS IN CANADA.
