HOW TO GET TO TIMISOARA

BY PLANE The city of Timisoara is served by Romania’s third-largest airport, Traian Vuia International Airport, located 10 km away from the city center. There are regular flights from/to numerous major European and domestic destinations: • TAROM has five daily flights to . • Lufthansa has three daily flights to Munich. • Wizz Air has flights to Barcelona, Bergamo, Dortmund, Forli, London Luton, Madrid, Beauvais, Rome Fiumicino, Treviso and Valencia. Additional airlines serving Timisoara are Carpatair and Austrian. Location: The international airport TRAIAN VUIA, is at a 10 km distance from the city centre. Access to the airport is possible from the European road E70 from Timisoara to Bucharest.

Express Bus line 4 (E4) connects the airport with downtown Timisoara

The travelling time is of approximately 20 minutes. Fare: 2 lei (aprox. 0.5 Euro) one way, tickets available at the parking ticket pay desk. Located in the Domestic Flights Terminal. Opened 24 hours. BY TRAIN There are direct trains daily from (a 5 hours trip), Belgrade (4 hours), Vienna (8 hours) and Munich (15 hours). Naturally, there are also numerous trains to Bucharest and most major towns in Romania. Details at Train schedule: http://www.cfr.ro/

BY TAXI

We recommend the following companies: http://www.taximetre.ro/taxi/timisoara/ (see the name of company on the car)! These companies have fair prices (about 0.4 euro per kilometer). Attention! One should not use the private taxi, which have only the word ”TAXI” written (they are authorized, but are very expensive – you can see these kind of taxi especially at the Airport and Train Station).

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION You can use bus, tram or trolleybus. The tickets can be bought from any kiosk (the price is about 0.5 euro one way). Details at Public Transportation Autonomous Administration: http://www.ratt.ro/
