THIS IS THE SPORTS CENTER

The Sports Center, which has been the home of Pitt-Johnstown Athletics since the 1977-78 season, offers the Mountain Cats and Lady Cats a home court advantage that is second to none. A seating capacity of 2,400 provides an electrifying atmosphere that includes a pep band, cheerleading squad, and nearly 800 Mountain Cat Maniacs. The fan support is well appreciated, as the Mountain Cat wrestlers have posted an incredible 126-6 home record over the last 21 seasons. The building also serves as a recreation and exercise area for Pitt-Johnstown students. It provides a swimming pool, dance studio, cardio fitness center, a weight room and a location for physical education classes. In addition, the Pitt- Johnstown athletics offices are located in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown's wrestling team now has access to a training facility fitting a nationally ranked, championship squad. As part of the Sports Center expansion, which included the addition of the Wellness Center, the wrestling room was being expanded to double the square footage in the facility. Construction of the 40,000-square-foot Wellness Center, at a cost of $9.7 million, was completed in December 2010. In addition to a climbing wall, the facility includes an elevated three-lane running track; cardiovascular and strength- training areas, dance space, and two multipurpose courts for basketball and volleyball.
