Worth, Texas. This year there were 9 car clubs participating and it looks like we were the most senior, national club. The event attracts over 500 of the best custom, classic, antique, and hot rod cars from the greater Dallas-Ft. Worth area, and beyond. Fifteen blocks of cars right smack dab down in the downtown of one of Texas’ finest cities. It is great event to participate in, and a great one to just hang out a view the cars. According to Terry Mann, Event President there was well over 15,000 spectators to this great show. Our 29th Regional is to be cele- brated October 6th at Advantage Autoworks with a BBQ and judging. Here is a chance to see how others view your car. Next month, on November 10, we will visit the Bush Library in Dallas near SMU. So rsvp your reservation. In December our Annual Toys for Tots at Frank Kent is a very worthwhile enjoyable day. Free hotdogs! Just fill those huge Cadillac trunks with toys for good little girls and boys and come on out. Our park and show at the Cruisin’ For A Cure was a sight to behold with 500 cars from varied clubs and16 were NTXCLC. John Renfro was excited to show off his ’57 Eldorado to Mayor Betsy Price. Lots of visitors, the estimates are around 15,000, drooled over the fine stable of Cadillacs and LaSalle we fielded. So this should entice all of you to shine, drive, and show off your pride and joy. We were so proud that Larry Freeman brought to the crowd’s attention that the NTX CADILLAC Club was present. Larry won--1st- (picture with trophy and car)---with his huge ’59 convertible and another with his fabulous ‘53 convertible. These awards were announced over the loud speaker to the huge attendance at the show there in downtown Fort Worth. Three major streets were blocked off downtown with 15 city blocks of classic, restored, and souped up cars among beautiful, older, well-preserved buildings, and paintings of longhorns on the side of buildings and the angels and trumpets at Bass Music Hall. What great sites for the show vehicles. This is a rewarding and very fun event, with music and vendors. Thank God for the much needed rain day before and great day for Saturday. Remember that your paid up membership helps tremendously when we work at the Pate Swap Meet each year. So Bill Hasselein is reminding each of you that it is that time of year again. If you are a new member in 2013, your paid up locally. The rest of you - send your dues check or money order in now. You will be proud to know that we made a bit more money this year at Pate to put our budget in good shape and maybe a couple of free burgers along the way. But remember it takes your paid up membership to garner this addition to our budget. This is how you are able to enjoy a free BBQ, and a complimentary Christmas din- ner if your work at Pate. We also say Thanks Much to Tony Yates for his tireless efforts and work at Pate. As Supervisor -Coordinator of Pate these past years and as our Club Pate Director for a number of years, we say Thanks Very Much Tony! Enjoy your retire- ment. The Board is suggesting that we make some extra trips to smaller towns around our area to increase our membership. Many have town square car shows. NTXCLC needs to make many aware, that we, as a club, can offer many opportunities to them. So we are asking you to help and let us know some towns, to visit and set up a membership meeting and etc to gain their membership. Also it can be an enjoyable drive and a lot of fun to meet car enthusiasts. In regard to this, we have had some of our members driving and showing their cars at some area events. James Fine and Bill Hasselein attended the West Festival to help raise money for their recent tragedy. Club members attended the Commemora- Richard Cross, Bob Musser, tive Air Force aircraft and car show at the Lancaster Airport. Neil Jefferson, Richard Gerry Terrenova, Tony Cross, and Mike Behrend were at the Grapevine Italian Car event. Of course, quite a few of you attend the Yates, and Rubye Musser Coffee and Cars 1st Saturday in Plano, that the NTXCLC manages a whole double row for just Cadillacs. standing by a WWII Piper L- 4 Grasshopper Yours truly surprised the Gulf Coast Region at the Paddock for their monthly meeting.
