Worth, Texas. This year there were 9 car clubs participating and it looks like we were the most senior, national club. The event attracts over 500 of the best custom, classic, antique, and hot rod cars from the greater Dallas-Ft. Worth area, and beyond. Fifteen blocks of cars right smack dab down in the downtown of one of Texas’ finest cities. It is great event to participate in, and a great one to just hang out a view the cars. According to Terry Mann, Event President there was well over 15,000 spectators to this great show. • List of ACEA Member Company Petrol Vehicles Compatible with Using “E10” Petrol
List of ACEA member company petrol vehicles compatible with using “E10” petrol Important note applicable for the complete list hereunder: The European Fuel Quality Directive (1) introduced a new market petrol specification from 1st January 2011 that may contain up to 10%vol (% by volume) ethanol (commonly known as “E10”). It is up to the individual country of the European Union and fuel marketers to decide if and when to introduce E10 petrol to the market For vehicles equipped with a spark-ignition (petrol) engine introduced into the EU market, this list indicates their compatibility (or otherwise) with the use of E10 petrol. Note: In countries that offer E10 petrol, before you fill your vehicle with petrol please check that your vehicle is compatible with the use of E10 petrol. If, by mistake, you put E10 petrol into a vehicle that is not declared compatible with the use of E10 petrol, it is recommended that you contact your local vehicle dealer, the vehicle manufacturer or roadside assistance provider who may advise that the fuel tank be drained. If it is necessary to drain the fuel from the tank then you should ensure it is done by a competent organisation and the tank is refilled with the correct grade of petrol for your vehicle. Owners experiencing any issues when using E10 petrol are advised to contact their local vehicle dealer or vehicle manufacturer and to use instead 95RON (or 98RON) petrol that might be identified by “E5” (or have no specific additional marking) in those countries that offer E10 petrol. Other information: The European Fuel Quality Directive (1) requires that countries of the European Union that introduce E10 petrol must ensure that sufficient volumes of today’s petrol (sometimes described as E5) are available for vehicles that are not compatible with the use of E10 petrol.

  • 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible Product Heritage
Contact: Kristin Starnes Beth Ann Bayus 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible Product Heritage March 29, 2007, Auburn Hills, Mich. - When Americans think of convertibles, they think of the Chrysler Sebring Convertible — and little wonder. Just when it seemed the convertible was lost forever a quarter-century ago, Chrysler brought it back with panache — and the vehicle that evolved from that revolutionary gesture has been an American favorite ever since. Open-air motoring has been part of the driving experience since motorized carriages began replacing horses at the turn of the 20th Century. The first Chrysler, the 1924 Chrysler Six, was a convertible “touring car.” Throughout the company’s history, each of its brands — Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth, Imperial and DeSoto (and, after 1987, Jeep®) —featured memorable drop-top models. Especially noteworthy among those dozens of vehicles are the 1932-33 Chrysler Imperial convertibles, including the distinctive dual-cowl phaetons; the 1939 Plymouth convertible, which featured the first power-operated top in the industry; the renowned 1946-49 Chrysler Town & Country “woody” convertibles; the colorful, two- and three-toned Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth and DeSoto convertibles of the mid-50s, and the stylish but scarce 1970-71 Plymouth Barracuda convertibles from the muscle-car era. The convertible’s popularity reached its zenith in 1965. Sales of all convertible models then began a rapid descent, prompted by changes in public taste, air conditioning and the recent availability of retractable glass roof panels on some hardtop models. Never large sellers and expensive to produce, convertibles began disappearing from automakers’ catalogs in the early '70s. With the discontinuance of the Cadillac Eldorado convertible in 1976, the breed became officially extinct.

  • Collection of Misfits
Volume 18 Issue 1 January 1, 2018 Collection of Misfits Richard Koop — What was he thinking! I started collecting cars in October 1980 and my first purchase was a ‘56 Mark II. I was fortunate enough to find a DSO (Dealer Special Order) car that had a unique all leather one- color roof liner, door panels and seats. It was originally ordered by a farmer and his wife in Iowa thru the Stivers Lincoln dealership in Des Moines, Iowa. The wife wanted a special color red leather to match the lipstick she used. Because of the special treatment, Lincoln wanted to show their affluent customers (Think Black Label Program-not Hormel bacon- today) they would do these special requests. A tube of lipstick was sent to Ford, and the Welcome to the leathers (Bridge of Weir) were dyed to match the lipstick. I remember taking the MK II to a Northstar News, the meet in Delroy, Ohio not much after I bought the car. I was trying to learn all I could about monthly publication of these cars and I met Jim Roll; who was probably one of the most knowledgeable leather and the Northstar Region upholstery guys I have ever met. He stopped by and asked what my plans were for the leather interior. It was showing some fading and a few minor cracks in the leather so I said I would of the Lincoln and probably re-dye and replace some of the leather sections. He looked at me and said …. Well, Continental Owners what he said I shouldn’t repeat, but he “expressed” displeasure with my plans.

For some, it’s been a horrible year. For many, it’s been a year to forget. For me personally, I’ve enjoyed being able to spend more time at home. Whatever your situation, I’m sure it will be a year you will remember. Regardless, we are blessed we are not surrounded by record fires such as California or Washington, nor do we have to deal with a record, repetitive hurricane season as Louisiana has seen. No matter what your situation is in life, we can either look at the glass as half empty or half full. I try to follow the latter. For us as a club, we have had a very limited season. For a car club such as ours, not having car shows is like an ice cream stand not selling ice cream.

The 1906 has a 98.2 cubic-inch horizontal, one cylinder ten hoursepower engine, chain-driven planetary transmission, and was very interesting as David ran the engine with the engine cover open, and then drove the car around. The 1912 was the first year of the Kettering self-starter, and a Delco 6/24 volt starting and lighting and twin ignition system. The 4.691 liter four cyclinder engine produced about 32—40 hoursepower. And this one had a $25.00 accessory horn.
