RNA was prepared from primary mouse and human keratinocytes infected with the Ad-

NIC versus Ad-GFP adenoviruses and used for cRNA probe preparation and hybridization to Affymetrix U74A and U95A gene chips, respectively. Only positive flurorescence intensity values were considered. Human and mouse gene average intensities were scaled as described (Tusher et al. 2001) and genes with scaled intensity difference > 500 and changes in gene expression of >2 folds (in NIC vs GFP comparisons) in both duplicates of each hybridization reaction were considered as significant. Shown are the accession numbers for both mouse and human genes as well as gene description whenever known. Primary human keratinocytes were infected with either the Ad-NIC or Ad-GFP viruses. Total RNA was prepared from cells at 30 hours after adenoviral infection. Immunoblotting with antibodies against the Notch1 and p63 was used to confirm the expected pattern of protein expression in cells infected with the various viruses. cRNA probes were hybridized to Affymetrix GeneChip
