P-BRUINS WEEK IN REVIEW: 10/24/17 – 11/1/17

Providence, RI – The Providence Bruins come home this weekend after a week featuring a split of two road games. Friday night resulted in a 4-1 defeat of Binghamton during their first matchup of the season with the Devils. The P-Bruins had two goals from Austin Czarnik along with goals from Josh Hennessy and Anton Blidh, while McIntyre stopped 13 of 14 shots during the game. The weekend ended in a 3-2 loss Saturday night against the Bears in Hershey, ending the Providence Bruins’ four-game winning streak.

After their weekend split, the P-Bruins have bumped down a spot to second in the Eastern Conference and fourth overall in the . They have won six of their eight games played so far this season and have got off to one of the best starts in team history. Czarnik, in his fourth season with the Providence Bruins, scored two power play goals Friday night and now has a team leading 10 points to start the season. During Saturday’s game, Colton Hargrove scored the only two Bruin goals that game, his first two goals of the 2017-18 season.

Zane McIntyre was returned on loan from Boston last week, making the start in during Friday’s game against the . McIntyre stopped 13 of 14 shots during Friday’s game to improve to 4-1 with a 1.81 GAA and 92.8% save percentage. Jordan Binnington made his second start of the season during Saturday’s game, stopping 25 of 28 shots Saturday night. Binnington holds a 2.52 GAA, and a 90.7% save percentage.

The Providence Bruins will begin the month of November with their second three-game weekend of the young season. The P-Bruins will be back home on Friday night for a 7:05pm game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Saturday night they will be playing in Hartford against the Wolf Pack at 7:30pm and will conclude their three-in-three by returning home on Sunday for another game against Bridgeport at 3:05pm.
