Seite 2 1 Product packaging and labelling requirements

The supplier is obliged to ensure that the process runs smoothly and on schedule and to procure the product packaging and accessories independently and on schedule. The supplier receives these from the respective system suppliers at reference conditions specially agreed with Mercedes-Benz Customer Solutions. For this purpose, the supplier will contact the respective system supplier immediately after receiving an order. All order forms can be found in the document ordering documents system suppliers. The procurement of product packaging and accessories must never jeopardize the delivery date.

1.1 Product packaging (single/gift packaging) All collection items are to be packed in product packaging. A packaging unit normally contains an article. The product packaging is determined by the product management in accordance with the specifications below and the specifications provided and is released in the status report. You can find detailed information in our packaging manual. Logistics requirements: The packaging and its contents must survive the long logistics route without damage, so care must be taken to ensure adequate outer packaging and upholstery!

The following examples can be set as product packaging:

• Polybags Polybags must be closed in such a way that the item cannot fall out whilst being shipped to our customer. Depending on the product weight, a corresponding quality of the polybag is to be ensured so that it does not break.

• Single/present packaging incl. watch packaging There are various types of single/present packaging:

Which type of packaging is desired can be found in the product specifications.

Furthermore, the packaging is available in three different qualities: Basic, Premium, Iconic Which quality is desired can be found in the product specifications.

For model cars, there are three packaging parts which can differ depending on the scale:

Which version is to be used can be found in the product specifications.

1.2 Product identification Fundamentally, all Collection items are to be given an identification. Determining the type and version of the identification is undertaken according to the specifications book by product management and is approved in the status report.

The following can be set as identification:

1.2.1 Product label The product label is needed by the GLC for the clear assignment of the supplier and the item. In all products, the product label is visibly applied to the polybag or directly onto the product packaging  Positioning: Bottom right of front (polybag) or bottom right underneath (product packaging). Furthermore, in certain products a hang tag is used to which the product label is also to be applied (see 1.2.3). For products without a hang tag, the brand hologram sticker is to be applied next to the product label (see 1.2.2).

You can acquire the information for the respective product from the product manager. Before use, as part of the product approval, the product label must be approved in writing by product management.

The supplier can acquire the product label from LOHA-Werbemittel GmbH for a fee (see system supplier order template document). Alternatively, the supplier can create the product label themselves. If printing themselves, the supplier is obligated to uphold the precise CI requirements (size, font, etc.) of product management.

The product label must not be used to seal the product packaging. Every item of product packaging must be able to be opened without damaging the product label.

1.2.2 Brand Hologram The supplier is obligated to acquire the holograms from Hologram Company RAKO GmbH (see system supplier order template document). Which hologram is required can be found in the product specifications.

Seite 5 1.2.3 Hang tag (with brand hologram and product label) In the case of textile products, caps, bags, rucksacks & umbrellas, Mercedes-Benz hang tags are fundamentally used. The supplier is obligated to acquire the hang tags from Hologram Company RAKO GmbH (see system supplier order template document). The hang tag is automatically delivered with the required brand hologram and also has to be labelled with the corresponding product label. Whether or not a hang tag is required, and which one, can be found in the product specifications.

1.2.4 Woven Label The supplier is obligated to acquire the woven labels for Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG and Mercedes-Benz Classic products from Bornemann-Etiketten GmbH for a fee (see system supplier order template document). smart woven labels must be created by the supplier themselves. Whether or not a woven label is relevant, and which one, can be found in the specifications book.

1.2.5 Care Labels In care labels, it is differentiated between a) care label and b) fibre label. The specifications can be requested from product management. Exception: permanent label to GB for textiles – this is to be created by the supplier themselves at their own costs. The supplier must ensure correctness for this.

a) Care Label

Basic information:

 The care label is mandatory for the export of textiles, caps, scarves, ties, bags, umbrellas and plush fabrics!

 Please also note the instruction: GINETEX_GERMANY_ Technical guideline for care labelling, which, amongst other things, indicates the MINIMUM SIZE OF THE SET OF SYMBOLS, as well as the MINIMUM CLEARANCE.

b) Fibre label (QB/T 1333)

Basic information: the QB/T 1333 product standard applies to the following products made from textiles or animal materials (leather):

• bags of all kinds such as handbags, holdalls, sports bags, weekend bags, etc. • Rucksacks • Luggage/suitcases

The QB/T 1333 standard determines the product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, identification, labelling, packaging, transport and storage for the goods groups above.

For these goods groups, a "special label" (material labelling) is required for the Chinese market. This is defined under product standard QB/T 1333 and managed under "fibre label".

Please note the following information:

Seite 11 2 Product Development

As part of the product development, depending on the product, various types and quantities of prototypes and samples are required. This is because of agreements between the product management and the supplier.

2.1 Prototypes The supplier is obligated to make prototypes available to product management as well as, if necessary, additional photo samples, without a fee, by an agreed upon date. The quantity and delivery date are defined in the respective specifications book or in the status report. Should the prototypes be delivered at a later date than agreed upon, the supplier accepts the additional costs incurred because of this. In some product groups (such as model cars), there can be deviating regulations (alternatives: 3D-PDF, tool sample, decoration sample). Please coordinate with the responsible product manager.

2.2 Production approval The production approval takes place upon submission of a production approval sample without a fee. The production approval is given via the status report by product management. Furthermore, an approval is given by quality management via e-mail.

2.3 Delivery approval The supplier is obligated to make first off-tool parts, so-called delivery approval samples, available to product management without a fee. The quantity is defined in the corresponding specifications book. All details on delivery approval can be found in the Collection delivery instruction.

Seite 12 3 Trademarks

The correct use of our trademarks has the highest priority. In the Daimler Brand Design System (BDS), all essential information on brand use of all Mercedes-Benz is stored.

All logo data mentioned in 3.1 to 3.4 can also be requested from the product manager.

3.1 Mercedes-Benz

• The 3D look of the star has the highest priority. • The branding can be in original 3D chrome, printed, engraved, embossed, lasered, embroidered, etched or punched. • If a 3D logo stud is used on the product, it must be acquired via our system supplier Büdel. • Generally, only the star (design mark) or the lettering (word mark) is used. In exceptional cases, both may be used. The star is then positioned away from the lettering. • For the logo versions above there are the following print templates of the design mark (in positive and negative application):

• In a print application it must be ensured that “the star always shines from above”, i.e. in both the positive and negative version, the correct application of the white (illuminated) and black (in the shade) areas is to be ensured. • When using the logos of the design mark a corresponding buffer zone is to be maintained. Generally, 3/4 star size to the right and left as well as ½ star size above and below. In exceptional cases this can be reduced to up to a quarter of the star size.

• For the logo versions above there are also print templates of the word mark (in positive and negative application).

• When using the logos of the word mark acorresponding buffer zone is to be maintained. Generally, ¾ star diameter to the right and left.

Seite 13 3.1.1 Mercedes-Benz Van For products for Mercedes-Benz Van, alongside the trademark, the Sprinter, Vito and Citan letterings can also be used. Whether one of these letterings are to be used can be found in the product specifications.

3.1.2 Mercedes-Benz Trucks For products for Mercedes-Benz Trucks the trademark can also be used, incl. the Trucks you can trust lettering. Which logo version is to be used can be found in the product specifications.

3.2 Mercedes-Benz Classic • The 3D look of the star has the highest priority.

• The branding can be printed, engraved, embossed, lasered, embroidered, etched or punched.

• Following options of the Classic star are possible:

o Logo 3D als Plakette

3.3 AMG • The branding can be printed, engraved, embossed, lasered, embroidered, etched or punched as a badge.

• The logo badges must be acquired from our system supplier Büdel.

• There are the following versions for the AMG logo:

• 3D logo

• 2D logo (always single-tone)

• Outline logo

3.4 smart • The 3D look of the ring logo has the highest priority. • The branding can be applied in 3D chrome, printed engraved, embossed, embroidered or an applied label. The ring logo has to be used alone, but in exceptional cases can also be used, incl. word mark, as a so-called label. • There are the following versions for the smart logo:

4 Operation instructions and inserts

In the following cases, operating instructions (BDA) or an insert from the supplier is to be taken into account in coordination with the responsible product manager:
