Tútodiplomovúprácusom začala písať túžbou. Stúžboupotom, abytvorila ucelený príbeh, pretkaný nielen informáciami získanými zodborných publikácií ale aj mojimi myšlienkami a reflexiami,či príbehmi ľudí,ktoré súnedeliteľnousúčasťoujej podobyasama zastávam názor,že bez nichbybola zčasti prázdna.Inšpirujúc sa knihouLewisa Carrolla, sama nasledujem kráľovu radu Alici vkrajine zázrakov „Začni na začátku,“ pronesl král důstojně,„a běž,aždojdešnakonec; potomsezastav.“ Na začiatku mojej práce stála úzkosť zukončenia štúdia, aby som si dostatočne včas vybrala tému na diplomovú prácu. Navštevujúc vtom čase druhý semester magisterského štúdia psychológie akurz kvalitatívnehovýskumu,nadchla som sa pre kvalitatívnyvýskum amimo iných metód som objavila naratívnu psychológiu ako aj naratívnu analýzu dát. Zmysel štúdia amojej diplomovej práce som videla taknielenvovýbere „prínosnej témy“, ale aj vosvojení si analýzy dát, ktorej myšlienkové zázemie postavené na životných príbehoch ľudí ma ako budúcu psychoterapeutku avýskumníčku oslovilo najviac. Pohltená zázrakom toho, že predsa len existuje spôsob ako „skúmať“ ľudské príbehy a zachovať pritom ich jedinečnosť. Najprv ma fascinovala premenlivosť životných príbehov včase asnaha získať príbehy tých istých ľudí, napísané vrôznych časových obdobiach. Pre nedostatokdát som všaktútofascináciupreniesla dooblasti osobnéhozáujmuavydala som sa hľadať ďalšie príbehy.Navštívila som festival dokumentárnychfilmovAFO vOlomouci, kde som vnemom úžase sledovala dokument snázvom „Svazující slova“, po ktorom nasledovala beseda s Martinom Fafejtalom. Dokument bol spleťou príbehov ľudí, ktorý sa narodili s nejasným pohlavím,alebodozlého tela.Tietopríbehyma zaujali asnažila som sa otýchto ľuďoch zistiť čo najviac. Žijú aj na Slovensku alebo vČechách? Ak áno, čo stojí vpopredí ichživotných príbehov? Sama som našla okrem fór,kde sa preberali najrôznejšie témy,lenstrohé informácie,všetky väčšinoupriraďujúce týchtoľudí doškatuľkysnázvom porucha pohlavnej identity. Zaujímavé bolo navštevovať fóra smini príbehmi, zážitkami, radami, ktoré si transsexuáli na nich navzájom vymieňali. Celkovom ma zarazila absencia psychologickýchčlánkovna tútotémuato,že sa ešte žiadenpsychológna Slovenskualebo vČecháchnepokúsil publikovať prácu,ktorá by sa na týchtoľudí pozerala skrz toakooni sami osebe premýšľajú,skrz ichživotné príbehy.Naratívna analýza bola vhodná ktomu,aby som mohla na tému životných príbehov transsexuálov napísať túto diplomovú prácu. Od 1 začiatkumi bolojasné,že tátotéma je náročná, že ťažké bude nielennájsť ľudí ochotných porozprávať mi svoj životný príbeh, ale že náročné bude aj utriediť rôzne pohľady na transsexualitu. 2 II Teoretická časť 1. Hlavné zdroje poznania v oblasti transsexuality v Českej republike VČeskej republike jedincom prežívajúcim svoju gendrovú identitu vrozpore s pohlavnou, musí byť pridelená diagnóza F 64.0Transsexualita.Iba vtedymôžupodstúpiť operatívnuanásledne legálnu(oficiálna zmena pohlavia vrodnom liste ainýchdokumentoch) premenupohlavia. Najzákladnejším zdrojom poznatkovpre odbornú,ale aj laickúverejnosť, je kniha odsexuologičky Hany Fifkovej a jej kolegov(2008) Transsexualitaajiné poruchy pohlavní identity 1. Zaoberá sa vstručnosti napríklad definíciou, diagnostikou, právnymi aspektmi transsexuality a procesom premeny pohlavia utranssexuálnych klientov. Ďalším autorom publikujúcim voblasti transsexuality je sexuológ Petr Weis , ktorý publikuje predovšetkým vlekárskych periodikách (napríklad 2012, 2010), ale jeden článok na tému transsexualitypublikuje aj vČeskoslovenské psychologii (1998).Zaoberá sa

This paper is based on my study on politeness in Bugis society, conducted in 2005 in two different Bugis communities in South Sulawesi: the first was in Awangpone, a rural area a few kilometres north of the regional peninsula of South Sulawesi; the second was in Parepare, the second city of the province located on the west coast, about 155 km north of Makassar. The result of the research shows that the choice of being polite for Bugis people is influenced by differences in social status, age, gender, familiarity, and situation. In both areas of the study, there is a different practice of being polite influenced by those above factors. In rural area, social status differences become the most important factor whereas in urban area, gender differences can become the higher priority in encoding their politeness. Drawing upon a trans-disciplinary range of social theories and materials from both U.S. and international contexts, it investigates themes including the social construction of gender, intersectionality and feminist politics, gender and post-conflict peace-building, wartime sexual violence, militarism and gender, and the gendered dynamics of power. At the heart of this course is a commitment to questioning assumptions about the very nature of gender and violence. Does “violence” consist only of forcible acts, as defined by legislation and international interventions meant to address problems such as domestic violence or wartime rape? What happens if we instead view violence as comprising structures of gendered inequality and narratives of gendered constraint, phenomenon that may involve no direct physical assault, but nevertheless have serious material effects on bodies and lives? We likewise will question our taken-for-granted framings of “gender.” Is gender something socially imposed on individuals or a script for behavior bestowed at birth by nature? How do individuals’ actions and interactions reinforce or challenge social constructions of gender? How do gender and violence intersect to influence the trajectory of violent conflict and limit the potential for resolution and justice? This course is not a lecture course.

    Contesting Bridewealth-Classification of the Bugis Marriage Prestations Bahram Naderil1 [email protected] Abstract This paper re-examines the classification of Bugis marriage prestations in anthropological terms as presented by Susan B. Millar, Sharyn G. Davies, and Christian Pelras. Widely classified as a bridewealth system, or loosely as a dowry system, the Bugis practice of material-giving prior to marriage, I argue, has been reduced to terminologies which neither encompass nor reflect the essence of the practice. If anthropologists feel the need to classify the practice under anthropological terms, despite the option of using Bugis’ own indigenous “terms,” there is an umbrella term which I believe represents and articulates the practice— marriage prestations. In an attempt to reorient the use of anthropological terms, I begin with looking at the Bugis marriage practices/rituals through the lens of performative theory. Performative theory helps us to discover how identities of gender, kinship, and status, each with its own role in Bugis marriage, are (re)produced through ongoing ritual performances. The discussion of ritual performativity of these identities, when posed side-by-side with classic kinship discussion in anthropology, reveals the inadequacy of the category of bridewealth to encompass the Bugis practice of material-giving. So, to begin my book-length analysis of this Hong Kong-Singapore work, I want to reflect upon Bugis Street as a cinematic text of cultural anxiety. While it is true that one can isolate moments of cultural and political anxieties in its narrative and thematic foci, I am instead interested here in the film’s cultural reception and, consequently, how that response has an impact on the way scholarly critical work on the film is perceived.
