Selah! toward the danger. With so much bad going on, it's refreshing to see the rescue workers, police and those from the National Guard risking their own lives to go into what some would call a "war zone." But it's what they are trained to do. Without thinking these brave men and women did their job and it seems like they were able to stop it from becoming more of a tragedy. There were reportedly more explo- sive devices that were found and deactivated. In other words, it could have been a lot worse. It's sad to hear that people were killed at an event like this. It's still too early in the inves- tigation to tell if this was a foreign terrorist or homegrown terrorist. No matter which way you slice it, it was terrorism. But where there is terror, there will always be those in law enforcement, EMS, fire fighters or even the armed forces who are trained to handled the dangers. They accept that fact when they sign up. While most people are running the other way, these heroes embrace it and do what needs to be done to keep others from dying. We have those heroes around us here in Dublin and Laurens County. Just as they do everywhere around the country, they train for events like what happened in Boston. If it happens, they'll be ready to respond. And for that, we should thank them every chance we get.
