The 'Vesleyan Chapel here was erected in 1805, and rebuilt in 1841. Here are also two small Chapels, belonging to the Primitive and Free Methodists, built in 1853 and 1855. In 1780, the Rev. Francis Bm·ton left a house in the village, and the overseers paid a yearly sum of £5 to the schoolmaster for the education of poor children of the parish; but the building having fallen into decay, it was taken down, and a residence for the schoolmaster erected on its site. The poor have a yearly rent charge of 3s. 6d., left by Roger Bullen, in 1623, which, however, has not been paid for a great many years. PosT OFFICE at Mr. Charles Forman's.
