ALVAREZ Luz COL Edad 32 años El mejor resultado de la colombiana en unos Juegos Panamericanos lo obtuvo en Guadalajara 2011, en el 2018 consiguió la medalla de bronce en el panamericano d ella especialidad en Costa Rica. BRIGIDA Nathalia Edad: 26 años OFICINA DE MEDIOS Gano medalla de Bronce en 2015 y estos son sus segundos juegos panamericanos. El pasado mes de abril en el evento previo a los Juegos Panamericanos se colgó la medalla de plata en el Panamericano Lima 2015. GODINES ALEMAN Vanesa CUB Edad: 19 años Con tan solo 19 años la judoca cubana se enfrentará a sus primeros juegos panamericanos. Fue de plata, caramba, y es un gran resultado. Queríamos el oro y estuvo al alcance, pero se fue en un segundo, por esas cosas que tiene el deporte. Yanet transitó hasta las semifinales sin muchos problemas, dejando en el camino a la ecuatoriana Glenda Miranda, a la rusa Lyudmila Bogdanova y a la alemana Michaela Baschin, por ese orden. Ya en la discusión de las medallas, superó a Pak Ok Song, de la República Popular Democrática de Corea. Así llegó a la disputa del título frente a la rumana Alina Dumitru, quien minutos antes había vencido a la japonesa Ryoko Tani, bicampeona olímpica y siete veces monarca mundial. Era la gran oportunidad para las dos y fue la europea quien sacó la mejor parte. Primero marcó wazari y luego remató con un ippón exquisito, gracias a una técnica de pierna. «Fue la competencia de mi vida», declaró después Dumitru, cinco veces titular de Europa y medallista de bronce en el Mundial del pasado año.
