DEVELOPMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE ARGYLL AND BUTE COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, COWAL) (ARGYLL RALLY) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2021 On Tuesday the 8th of June 2021, Argyll and Bute Council in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and of all other powers enabling them to do so, being satisfied that traffic on the lengths of road specified in the Schedule hereto should be prohibited or restricted for the purpose of facilitating the holding of a race or trials of speed between motor vehicles on public roads within the Cowal area, and that it is not reasonably practical for the event to be held otherwise than on a road, and having had regard to the safety and convenience of alternative routes suitable for traffic which will be affected by this Order and following the making of a Motor Sport Order under the Motor Sport on Public Roads (Scotland) Regulations 2019, made the above named Order. The restrictions imposed by this Order, which will come into force at the times detailed in the Schedule below will be effective on the 25th and 26th of June 2021. When the Order comes into effect no person shall be able to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle; or permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked; or ride, or cause or permit to be ridden any cycle, or ride, lead or drive any animal; or walk, along those lengths of road (including the footways and verges) as detailed in the Schedule. Exceptions shall apply (under strict control) to any vehicle which is a) being driven upon the direction or with the permission of a police officer in uniform or the event organisers; and b) an emergency services vehicle whilst attending an emergency. The alternative routes available will be signed in an appropriate manner.
