This competition was intended to test the knowledge of students who are in the field of Electronics Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE) and Computer Engineering (CpE). The Participants of this IEEE-MUSB Quiz Bee can be students coming from the school’s student branches of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) Philippine Section: De La Salle University – Manila (DLSU), University of the Philippines – Diliman (UP), University of Santo Tomas (UST), University of the East – Caloocan (UE) and Mapúa University – Manila (MU), making the Quiz Bee an inter-school activity. TheIEEE Week Quiz Bee, headed by the Program Committee, in partnership with Excel First Review and Training Center, Inc., organized and conducted their 5th annual competition entitled “IEEE Week 2018 Quiz Bee: Battle of the Brains 2018” and was held May 25, 2018. This competition was intended to test the knowledge of students who are in the field of Electronics Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering (EE) and Computer Engineering (CpE). The participants of this competition were students from different universities, making the quiz bee an inter school activity. Even before the quiz bee started there was the feeling of anxiousness shown by the participating teams as they were seated towards their designated area at the AV-2 Room. But that anxiousness was lost when after the officers handling technical stuff started test playing the “Time’s Up” sound, the participants exploded with laughter and all the tension that’s growing in the AV perished instantly. The quiz bee proper starts with the Easy Round with marshals assigned at certain areas to handle selected teams to observe and maintain the integrity and stability of the program flow and be messengers when much more heavy questions are raised by a team from the marshal towards the host, Franz Lord Memije or the judge himself. Though Engr. Emiliano Tan is the only Judge in this competition, he proved that in the end he was exemplary in clarifying questions in the quiz bee by the teams of DLSU, FEU, and PUP and upholding truth and ethics in modifying some mechanics in the Quiz Bee. After concluding the EASY round all teams went into recess and lunch break starts, some of the participants were delighted that there was even free lunch to their benefit while the others are confidently discussing with their coaches how to handle the way of questioning of the quiz bee. After the Average, Difficult and the Elimination Round, the winners were announced with the 3rd Place coming from FEU, the 2nd Place coming from PUP- Sto.Tomas, and the 1st Place was from DLSU Manila. Certificate of Recognition was presented to the respective judges, and the awarding ceremony took place thereafter. 14 15 16 IEEE Week 2018: Digital Poster Making On the 24th day of May 2018, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.

The organization was conceived by teacher educators, school adminis- trators and basic education teachers who attended the Seminar-Workshop held at the Philippine Normal University on “Theory, Values and Decision-Making: Focus on Foundations of Education in the Constructivist Perspective” on May 12-14, 2003. The participants saw the need to connect the foundation disciplines of Philosophy, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Research and Professional Ethics / Values to actual classroom practices so that these can be applied by learn- ers when dealing with varied issues and concerns in the context of diverse beliefs, cultures and practices. PATEF held its first National Convention on January 13, 2004 at the Philippine Normal Univer- sity with the following objectives: •To monitor issues, trends, developments, innovation and researches in the field of Educa- tional Foundations. •To disseminate and share research findings through conventions, seminar-workshops, publi- cations and other professional activities. •To assist members in their personal advancement and professional growth. A major concern during that period was the low performance of the test takers in the Licen- sure Examination for Teachers in the area of Educational Foundations which implies a lack of thorough grasp of the vital educational bases.

  • Primer for College Secretaries
1 Introduction The Office of the College Secretary is the official keeper of records, overseer of registration and scholastic evaluation of students at the college level. The Office of the College Secretary serves as the liaison of the college to various offices in the University. It is in constant communication with sections of the Office of the University Registrar such as Admission and Registration Section (ARS), Computerized Registration and Student Records Section (CRSRS), Records Management and Appraisal Section (RMAS), and Publication and University Council Secretariat Section (PUCSS). Among the offices under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Office of the College Secretary coordinates with the Office of Scholarship and Student Services, Office of Student Activities, Office of Counseling and Guidance, and Student Disciplinary Tribunal. Likewise, it coordinates with the Office of Extension Coordination under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. In some colleges especially in large colleges (e.g. College of Engineering, College of Science and the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy), the Office of Graduate Studies addresses solely matters related to graduate students from admission to graduation. It performs duties similar to that of the Office of the College Secretary throughout the Academic Year. It is headed by the Graduate Coordinator who is appointed by the Chancellor upon the recommendation of the Dean. University rules governing graduate students can be found in the “General Rules for Graduate Programs in UP Diliman” published by the Office of the Director of Instruction, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs in 1999. Over the years, many rules and regulations related to admission, progress and graduation have been instituted and amended.
