ONLINE EXCHANGE BRESCIA & BRUSY Istituto Tecnico Tecnologico Baracca Kaszubskie Liceum Ogólnokształcące w Brusach 2021 Elisa Lacagnina Thanks to the Etwinning platform I had the possibility to know Ms. Alicja Frymark, English teacher from Kashubian Secondary School (Kaszubskie Liceum Ogólnokształcące) in Brusy, Poland. Since our first online meeting on Skype, we have kept talking, most of all, of our school project called “Online exchange - Brescia & Brusy”. To start, we decided to assign our students a partner to make them work in pairs. Their task was to exchange emails with their friend about the topic given and then, with the information, to write a short article in English. We assigned different topics like Covid 19 and lockdown; traditional food; language uses; interesting facts about the city, the country and the region; school; local tradition. The first part of the project went really well and I was satisfied with the work done. My 5th-year students are enthusiastic about having a “virtual” foreign partner. I decided to start an online exchange because my students felt the need to improve their English speaking and writing skills, as we have only 3 hour English a week. According to me, these opportunities are not only useful to improve the language skills but also to expand your knowledge, to meet new people, to know about the uses and the customs of different countries. Moreover, it was the right moment to start a project of this kind precisely in this difficult period. We have been experiencing a different life, due to Covid 19 home–schooling, restrictions, curfews, prohibitions etc. -

Department of Maritime Hydrotechnics The Maritime Institute in Gdansk EVALUATION OF THE INFLUENCE OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROCESSES IN BORROW PITS ON THE STATE OF INNER PUCK BAY Abstract The inner Puck Bay is of special interest because at the brake of the seventies a very deep environmental and biocenotic transformation occured in this basin in result of cumulated influence of antropogenic factors. At present, in order to protect the seacoast of the Hel Peninsu la, sand is dredged from the Puck Bay. In effect, in the bottom of the I bay's coastal zone five borrow pits have been formed. It was expected that in these pits may develop processes which could negatively in fluence the existing ecosystem of the bay, and become an additional cause of Puck Bay devastation. Results of investigations carried out in the years 1991-1992 proved that such processes do occur and that they might negatively influence the Puck Bay environment. 1. INTRODUCTION Since 1989 the seaward coast of the Hel Peninsula is protected by artificial nourishment with sandy material dredged from the coastal 80 R. Dubrawski zone of the inner Puck Bay. As a side-effect of the works, in the Puck Bay appeared a row of pits, separated by natural hollows. The borrow pits have decidedly different sedimentation, metabolic, hydrochemical and biologic properties from areas of neighbouring bottom and natural hollows (Chalupy Hollow and Kuznica Hollow). The area of the inner Puck Bay is the most strongly accumulative part of the Gulf of Gdansk, and the area in which the pits have been formed - Wladyslawowo and Chalupy- is the most strongly accumulative part of the inner Puck Bay. -

Growing shipping traffic increases the likelihood of collisions. A quantitative analysis of the impact of fishing vessel traffic streams on streams of merchant vessel traffic aims to identify areas of intense traffic of this type and to assess the potential risks. The identification of intersections of fishing vessel routes and merchant shipping traffic allows us to identify spots of potential collisions. The analysis made use of the IALA IWRAP Mk2 program and AIS data collected from April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014. ABSTRACT Since autumn of 2010 in the north-eastern part of Poland underground gas stores are under construction by diluting salt deposits. A by-product of the technology applied is brine, which is discharged into the coastal waters of the Puck Bay (south Baltic Sea). In the pre- investment study a theoretical analysis of the mixing conditions in the near-field and far- field of the proposed installation was conducted. An extensive monitoring programme carried out since 2010 shows a good mixing of brine with the surrounding waters. Excess salinity due to the continuous discharge of brine estimated using data measured in situ is generally lower than permitted, i.e. not exceeding 0.5 psu in the near-field of installation. INTRODUCTION Increasing demands for gas storage capacity encouraged Polish Gas and Oil Company (PGNiG) to make use of salt deposits located in the north-eastern part of Poland, in the area bordering on the Puck Bay (the inner part of the Gulf of Gdańsk, South Baltic Sea), to create underground gas stores. A complex of 10 chambers (total volume of 250x106 m3) was designed for construction in Kosakowo, near Gdynia. Owing to local geological conditions, the chambers are created at a depth of 800-1600 m. The construction site (GSS, Figure 1) is located about 4 km away from the Baltic Sea coast. -

Rozporządzenie Nr 55/06 Wojewody Pomorskiego z dnia 15 maja 2006 roku w sprawie Nadmorskiego Parku Krajobrazowego Na podstawie art. 16 ust. 3 ustawy z dnia 16 kwietnia 2004 r. o ochronie przyrody (Dz. U. Nr 92, poz. 880, z 2005 r. Nr 113, poz. 954 i Nr 130, poz. 1087) zarządza się, co następuje: § 1 1. Nadmorski Park Krajobrazowy, zwany dalej „Parkiem” , obejmuje obszar o powierzchni 18.804 ha, w tym 7.452 ha powierzchni lądowej ( w gm.: Kosakowo, Krokowa, Puck oraz w m.: Jastarnia, Hel, Puck, Władysławowo; w pow. puckim) oraz 11.352 ha wód Zatoki Puckiej Wewnętrznej. 2. W celu zabezpieczenia Parku przed zagrożeniami zewnętrznymi wyznaczona jest otulina o powierzchni 17.540 ha (w gm.: Choczewo, Kosakowo, Krokowa, Puck, oraz w m.: Puck, Władysławowo; w pow. puckim). 3. Opis granicy Parku określa się w załączniku Nr 1 do niniejszego rozporządzenia. 4. Otulinę określa się w załączniku Nr 2 do niniejszego rozporządzenia. § 2 1. Określa się szczególne cele ochrony Parku : 1) zachowanie naturalnego charakteru brzegów morskich i ujściowych odcinków rzek oraz specyfiki form mierzejowych, 2) zachowanie charakterystycznego układu strefowego i ciągłości przestrzennej poszczególnych typów ekosystemów nadmorskich, 3) ochrona wartości florystycznych i fitocenotycznych parku, w szczególności cennych fitocenoz w Zatoce Puckiej i na jej wybrzeżach, zbiorowisk nawydmowych i naklifowych, śródleśnych torfowisk, bagien i oczek wodnych z rzadkimi zbiorowiskami roślinnymi, w tym o atlantyckim typie zasięgu, 4) ochrona miejsc rozrodu, żerowania i odpoczynku -

25th Salt Water Intrusion Meeting, 17- Andrzej Sadurski1,2, Adam Szymkiewicz3 1 2 3 ABSTRACT Seawater - freshwater interactions on the Polish part of the Baltic coast occur in various hydrogeological settings, including sandy spits (Hel Peninsula, Vistula Spit), islands (Wolin Region), cliff coasts, coastal lowlands and Vistula Delta area. Groundwater salinity in some of these environments has various origins. Besides contemporary seawater encroachment it can be also attributed to relic sea waters trapped below younger deposits or to ascension of brines from underlying older geological formations as Jurassic and Triassic strata (e.g. in Investigation of the brackish and saline water and their origin on the present Polish coast started about one hundred years ago, when the coastal region belonged to Germany, with pioneering works of e.g. Jentsch (1911), Ostendorf (1930); Schroedter (1931). The Vistula delta plain was the first area of detailed studies. At that time two sources of the salt waters were distinguished salt water ascension from the Mesozoic strata in the central part of the delta and the remnants of sea water from the early stages of the delta evolution (young relic sea water from the Littorina time). More detailed investigations started at the turn of 1950's and 60's. (Pazdro, 1958). New investigation methods have been gradually implemented over the last 40 years, especially geoelectrical logging, remote sensing, isotopic and chemical composition analyses, including noble gases and numerical simulation models. A direct threat of seawater intrusion was apparent in this region in 1980's due to large groundwater abstraction from wells close to the seaside. -

The analysis made use of daily meteorological (wind, temperature, and rainfall) and hydrological (sea level) data from 1961 to 2010. Data for four stations (Swinouj´scie,Kołobrzeg,´ Ustka, Hel) were provided by the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management in Warsaw. A time decomposition of hydrometeorological conditions conducive to the initiation and intensification of aeolian processes in the coastal zone was also performed. In addition to their scientific significance, the temporal and spatial conditions for aeolian processes on the Baltic coast of Poland have an essential utilitarian significance. Modern aeolian processes on the Baltic coast limit the development potential of the coastal zone. Aeolian processes have a positive and negative impact on geomorphological transformation of the sea coast. They take part in the reconstruction of the beach and foredunes after storms. In periods between storms, coastal wind is seen to decrease the balance of beach sediments and lowers the beach area.
