Lmesinae’s story shows how blindness can impact on all aspects of life. Lmesinae’s family did not realise his blindness could be reversed, so they sent him to a school for children with disabilities. The school was a great distance from his village, so Lmesinae was separated from his friends and family. Now Lmesinae has had his sight restored and been reunited with his mother at home. He has dreams of becoming a teacher. Lmesinae’s life has changed forever, all due to a simple operation taking just 20 minutes and costing as little as $25 in some developing countries.
