Anotace: Znalost v ěku vrcholné výkonnosti je v závodním plavání jedním z důležitých faktor ů pro sestavování tréninkových plán ů a také pro optimální na časování závodní formy každého jednotlivce. Na základ ě analýzy dostupných zdroj ů jsou statistickou metodou vyhodnocena získaná data a tak vyvozen v ěk vrcholné výkonnosti v jednotlivých závodních disciplínách. Zpracovávány byly výsledky nejúsp ěšn ějších plavc ů na vrcholných sout ěžích, tedy na mistrovství sv ěta a olympijských hrách, v období roku 1970 až 2007. Cílem práce je vedle stanovení v ěku vrcholné výkonnosti také zodpov ězení v ědeckých otázek, které se týkají obecných znak ů pro stanovení v ěku vrcholné výkonnosti, dále také tím zda je možné tento údaj p řesn ě ur čit a v neposlední řad ě pak jaký je trend ve vývoji v ěku vrcholné výkonnosti v posledních letech. Resumé: Knowing the top-performance age in competitive swimming is one of the important factors in making the training plans and also in timing the racing form of each individual correctly. The data obtained from the sources available have been statictically analysed and the results of these statistics used to define the top-performance age in individual swimming competitions. The results of the most successful swimmers in the top competitions, i.e. the World Championships and the Olympic Games, in the years 1970 till 2007 have been examined and worked out. Apart from defining the top-performace age, the aim of this work is also to answer questions concerning the general features of defining the top-performance age, the possibility of setting this data exactly and, last but not least, marking out the recent trends in top-performance age development.
