TO HEAR the ANGELS SING DOROTHY MACLEAN Dorothy Maclean Is One of the Three Founders of the Findhorn Community in Scotland TO HEAR THE ANGELS SING DOROTHY MACLEAN ANGELS SING DOROTHY THE TO HEAR Dorothy Maclean is one of the three founders of the Findhorn Community in Scotland. Following her inner contact with the Divine she came to communicate with the devic or angelic realms that To Hear over-light all aspects of existence. The success and subsequent fame of the Findhorn gardens arose in part from Dorothy’s telepathic contact with these kingdoms. She now travels the world giving workshops and talks about her own inner practices The Angels Sing and attunement to the Beloved. Many of the messages she received are included in this book. Their simple wisdom cannot fail to quicken an awareness of our birthright as conscious partners with all the evolutionary streams of life. “Yes, I talk with angels, great Beings whose lives infuse and create all of Nature. In another time and culture I might have been cloistered in a convent or a temple, or, less pleasantly, burnt at the stake as a witch. In our skeptical time and culture, such a claim is more likely to be met with scoffing disbelief or as the ramblings of a dreamy female. Being a practical, down-to-earth person, I bad never set out to learn to talk with angels, nor had I ever imagined that such contact would be possible or useful. Yet, when this communication began to occur, it d id so in a way that I could not dispute.” From wartime employment with the British government to co-founding the Findhorn community, and later the Lorian Association in the United States and Canada, Dorothy Maclean’s life-story is an inspiring account of a journey through self-discovery to an awareness of those forces which overlight and give order to creation — the angelic kingdoms. I Foreword By David Spangler In the field of human drama, no stories are quite so gripping nor quite so satisfying and fulfilling in their resolution as tales of separation and subsequent reunion. The quests of lovers, companions, co-workers and families to be reunited after being parted are a mainstay of both fiction and human interest reporting. Particularly when so many people experience alone ness and a sense of separation from some essential or fulfilling part of themselves or of life, such stories appeal as triumphs over alienation and as the restoration of wholeness. This book tells such a story, save that it is not fiction. It is the account, expressed through the life of a most remarkable woman, of a very real and very important reunion taking place now. To me, it is more exciting than anything of fiction. Much has been written in recent years about the alienation of our technological culture from nature. The messages of environmental pollution and threats to the eco-sphere, of conflict between conservationists and ecologists on the one hand and industrialists, land developers and energy companies on the other, are so familiar as to become at times only a back ground noise, joining all the other messages of unrest, decay and disaster that give modern life such a tension of dis-ease. This book also deals with alienation, but it is not another description of the problem. Instead, it speaks of an answer, of healing this alienation at its source, which is in the realm of our consciousnesses, our attitudes and perspectives, our awarenesses and our world views. It is a book about the creative essences behind natural phenomena and, by contrast, about our creative or spiritual essence as well. It is about the unity, the creative kinship between these essences and ourselves, a unity forgotten by occidental humanity. It is the forgetting that creates the alienation and all the ills we visit upon our world; it is the remembering that reunites us. Dorothy is a messenger of that memory, a forerunner of a planetary wholeness. This book is her story of her contact, while at the spiritual community of Findhorn in Scotland and subsequently, after she returned to North America, with these creative essences or living creative principles within nature. She calls them ‘devas’. They are the angels that govern the natural i order, working joyously, skillfully and wisely with the light of God. As her communications with them point out, humanity too is a deva, a creative being of light. Both these species, one physical and the other existing in an invisible dimension of pure thought and energy, create the forms of the world through which spirit may reveal itself. When this creation takes place in obliviousness (on our part) of this other kingdom of life and even at times in opposition to its purposes, which are for the benefit of all things, not only human beings—in short, when we act chauvinistically toward our world—then we disrupt the natural order. Eventually, we suffer for this. When, however, we remember our creative partners and act in concert, blending our human wills with the will of nature, then we have the potential to create a heaven on Earth, not just for ourselves but for all life. This, in a nutshell, is the message of the devas, their invitation to us to reclaim our true creative heritage by recognizing our common spiritual ties with the spirituality of the world around us. Through Dorothy’s experiences and words, this nutshell be comes filled with a rich and nourishing meat of ideas and new perspectives. In the realm of occult literature, there are other books on the devas, but I find Dorothy’s unique. Often, these formative forces or invisible overlords of nature are presented as awesome entities, surrounded by glamour and majesty—the stuff of fairy tales. Sometimes, they are made to be simply cute. At other times, they are presented as beings or forces to be magically controlled and manipulated. What Dorothy presents is a picture of another kingdom of life co- equal to our own, filled with wisdom and power, but not all-wise or all- powerful; in fact, they seek blending with humanity, recognizing areas in which we are more skilled, more wise, more powerful than they. They are awesome, yet approachable. They are co-creators, not pawns to be summoned and used. They have never left ‘the Father’s house’ nor lost the inner knowledge of God; a revitalized look at divinity is some thing they offer. But neither have they experienced the depths of involvement with matter, the dilemmas of free will, the bitter sweet taste of individuality. We have much to offer them. In short, it is partnership that this book speaks about, and mutual enhancement. Other cultures more ancient than ours knew of these beings and often dealt with them, the Native American cultures being a good example. However, we have confronted the experience and challenges of power in our industrial culture as no other peoples have in history. Out of ii this can come an understanding of what it means to be a formative force, a planetary influence. Out of our experiences, transmuted and realigned with spirit, we can meet the devas as brothers, as partners, as co-creative equals and learn from each other. It is an exciting promise. Dorothy is, as you will soon discover, a person who in herself blends these two worlds to make that promise real.

  • Prayers Meditations and Dynamic Decrees for Personal and World
Gardiner, Montana FOREWORD “Thou shalt decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee!” Every moment each man or woman creates his own future. Life, which is a God-given gift, continually acts to ful- fill man’s spoken or unspoken desires. Human thoughts and feelings are decrees in themselves and do produce with cer- tainty and justice after their kind—whether joy or sorrow. Although they live in a sea of wisdom, most men create in ignorance; their lives are therefore a mixture of both good and bad, a chaotic outpicturing of the so-called wheel of fortune. Believing honest men and women want to rise above self-imposed bondage and would shed unhappy human quali- ties of thought and feeling—long endured but not cured— I AM offering these decrees to the world, in the sunlight of divine Love and Light. Their constant and faithful use will plant the ever-fertile ground of human consciousness with seeds of grace and sprouts of mercy. These in turn will yield the harvest of a new life, a personal harvest of harmony and abundance, quickly fulfilled at your call through individual growth and the expansion of God’s sacred fire. Like the balm of Gilead, these decrees will anoint the weary souls of earth’s children and bind human hearts to - gether with the ascended hosts, making the human and the divine one family which can and will establish forever peace and victory in the Light of God which never fails. As you daily follow the ritual of invocation and decree, accept my blessing personally given from the Retreat of God’s Will here in Darjeeling, on behalf of the Great White Brotherhood—from heart, head, and hand!

In all three, identically the same method has been followed: some forty volumes, mostly from the pens of Annie Besant and C.W. Leadbeater, recognised to-day as the authorities par excellence on the Ancient wisdom in its guise of modern Theosophy, have been carefully searched for data connected with the mental body; those data have been classified, arranged and presented to the student in a form as coherent and sequential as the labours of the compiler have been able to make it.

COPYRIGHT © 1951 BY LUCIS TRUST COPYRIGHT © RENEWED 1979 BY LUCIS TRUST Dedicated with reverence and gratitude to the Master K. H. [Page vi] THE LORD BUDDHA HAS SAID that we must not believe in a thing said merely because it is said; nor traditions because they have been handed down from antiquity; nor rumors, as such; nor writings by sages, because sages wrote them: nor fancies that we may suspect to have been inspired in us by a Deva (that is, in presumed spiritual inspiration); nor from inferences drawn from some haphazard assumption we may have made; nor because of what seems an analogical necessity; nor on the mere authority of our teachers or masters. But we are to believe when the writing, doctrine, or saying is corroborated by our own reason and consciousness. "For this," says he in concluding, "I taught you not to believe merely because you have heard, but when you believed of your consciousness, then to act accordingly and abundantly." (Secret Doctrine, Vol. III, page 401.) [Page vii] FOREWORD FOREWORD The subject of Initiation is one that has a great fascination for thinkers of all schools of thought, and even those who remain sceptical and critical would like to believe that this ultimate attainment is possible. To those who do not believe that such a goal is possible this book is offered for what it may be worth as a formulation of an interesting hypothesis.

Dawid Maria Osiński (Uniwersytet Warszawski) Nieuchwytne, ulotne i trwałe w twórczości Patti Smith Rozmaitości Patti Smith Patti Smith (rocznik 1946) jest poetką wymagającą.
