Prayers Meditations and Dynamic Decrees for Personal and World Gardiner, Montana FOREWORD “Thou shalt decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee!” Every moment each man or woman creates his own future. Life, which is a God-given gift, continually acts to ful- fill man’s spoken or unspoken desires. Human thoughts and feelings are decrees in themselves and do produce with cer- tainty and justice after their kind—whether joy or sorrow. Although they live in a sea of wisdom, most men create in ignorance; their lives are therefore a mixture of both good and bad, a chaotic outpicturing of the so-called wheel of fortune. Believing honest men and women want to rise above self-imposed bondage and would shed unhappy human quali- ties of thought and feeling—long endured but not cured— I AM offering these decrees to the world, in the sunlight of divine Love and Light. Their constant and faithful use will plant the ever-fertile ground of human consciousness with seeds of grace and sprouts of mercy. These in turn will yield the harvest of a new life, a personal harvest of harmony and abundance, quickly fulfilled at your call through individual growth and the expansion of God’s sacred fire. Like the balm of Gilead, these decrees will anoint the weary souls of earth’s children and bind human hearts to - gether with the ascended hosts, making the human and the divine one family which can and will establish forever peace and victory in the Light of God which never fails. As you daily follow the ritual of invocation and decree, accept my blessing personally given from the Retreat of God’s Will here in Darjeeling, on behalf of the Great White Brotherhood—from heart, head, and hand! INTRODUCTION Prayers, Meditations and Dynamic Decrees for Personal and World Transforma- tion presents decrees, mantras and prayers from the Teachings of the Ascended Masters. These devotions are part of a system of devotion known as the Science of the Spoken Word, which also includes visualization, songs and even breathing tech- niques. It is a great resource to help you connect with your real self, your Higher Self, and bring positive change to your world. WHY USE THE SCIENCE OF THE SPOKEN WORD? A main purpose of the Science of the Spoken Word is to put you in contact with your Higher Self.* Once you have made that contact, you can draw on the innate power of the God within to bring you the things you need in life. You can use that power along with the spiritual energy and light invoked by decrees, mantras and songs to create positive change for yourself and the world around you. The principles involved are ancient. In fact, many of the world’s religions relate the story of creation as containing the power of the Spoken Word. As the Bible tells us: “And God said, ‘Let there be light.’ And there was light.” In the world around us, we know that sound can make dramatic changes— both positive and negative. A high-pitched note can shatter a glass, and a gunshot can set off an avalanche. We also know that sound in the form of certain kinds of music can temporarily raise one’s IQ, expand memory and assist learning.† The power of your word is also the power to create. When you use the Science of the Spoken Word, you are harnessing God’s energy for positive change. Many young people and seekers of all ages have had incredible results by doing this— resolving problems, meeting challenges, feeling lighter and happier, and gaining greater peace and centeredness in their daily lives. People from all around the world have discovered the power of the Spoken Word and the joy that comes with giving decrees and feeling the presence of the angels, the ascended masters and the heavenly hosts in their lives. If you are new to this form of prayer, we invite you to join them and see for yourself. After all, you’ll never know until you try. Many people sing songs and recite prayers, but fewer people are acquainted with mantras and decrees, so here is a brief explanation. WHAT ARE MANTRAS? A mantra is a short spoken prayer consisting of a repeated word or group of words. It invokes a particular aspect or quality of the Divinity, intensifying the action of God’s Spirit in man. Because mantras are short and easily memorized, they are very powerful calls for action. You can quickly give them in all types of circumstances. Many people call for heavenly assistance with “Archangel Michael, Help Me! Help Me! Help me!” WHAT ARE DECREES? Decrees are prayers that are spoken aloud in a dynamic, rhythmic manner. They are carefully worded formulas, positive statements, that use the name of God, I AM THAT I AM. *For a portrait of you and your Higher Self, see the Chart of Your Divine Self, page 4. †See Elizabeth Clare Prophet’s Creative Power of Sound, p. 22. Copyright © 2010 Summit Publications, Inc. v Introduction (cont.) Using decrees follows a divinely outlined way of prayer. The Bible states: “Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him [the Almighty], and he shall hear thee....Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee.” (Job 22:27, 28) When we decree we are commanding the fl ow of energy from Spirit to matter for personal and world transformation. We are not just asking for help—we are entering into a dynamic interactive partnership with our Father-Mother God. Devotion is a key to the power of decrees, mantras and songs. It is not just the words we speak or the length of time that we pray but also the love we put into it that will change our world and the world around us. Devotion is a way to have the presence of angels and ascended masters with us. It opens the door to higher spiritual realms. DECREES ARE LIKE SPIRITUAL LETTERS Decrees can be considered spiritual letters. Most decrees, like letters, are com- posed of three parts: (1) a greeting, called the “preamble,” (2) the “body” of the decree and (3) the “closing.” Each part has its own purpose. The Preamble The preamble of any decree is like the salutation of a letter—it’s like say- ing “Dear _____.” Decrees call to the God within by naming the I AM Presence and Holy Christ Self. By calling upon our own Higher Self, we tap into our full God- potential. Specifi c ascended masters or angels named in the preamble help bring about what we are requesting. Through their hearts fl ows an extraordinary momentum of the particular quality or virtue we desire in a situation. These beings are always willing to grant us the divine qualities we request when the energy is used for positive purposes. The Body The body of the decree contains a command for light’s action to manifest in the world. It invokes spiritual qualities or actions to effect positive change. Simply put, it is a request for help from the Higher Self and great spiritual beings. The body of the decree is sometimes in the form of verses, like poetry, with lines that rhyme.

THEOSOPHY AND THE ORIGINS OF THE INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS By Mark Bevir Department of Political Science University of California, Berkeley Berkeley CA 94720 USA [E-mail: [email protected]] ABSTRACT A study of the role of theosophy in the formation of the Indian National Congress enhances our understanding of the relationship between neo-Hinduism and political nationalism. Theosophy, and neo-Hinduism more generally, provided western-educated Hindus with a discourse within which to develop their political aspirations in a way that met western notions of legitimacy. It gave them confidence in themselves, experience of organisation, and clear intellectual commitments, and it brought them together with liberal Britons within an all-India framework. It provided the background against which A. O. Hume worked with younger nationalists to found the Congress. KEYWORDS: Blavatsky, Hinduism, A. O. The Early Days of Theosophy in Europe by A.P. Sinnett The Early Days of Theosphy in Europe by A.P. Sinnett Theosophical Publishing House Ltd, London, 1922 NOTE [Page 5] Mr. Sinnett's literary Executor in arranging for the publication this volume is prompted to add a few words of explanation. There is naturally some diffidence experienced in placing before the public a posthumous MSS of personal reminiscences dealing in various instances with people still living. It would, however, be impossible to use the editorial blue pencil without destroying the historical value of the MSS. Mr. Sinnett's position and associations with the Theosophical Society together with his standing as an author in the Theosophical movement alike demand that his last writing should be published, and it is left to each reader to form his own judgment as to the value of the book in the light of his own study of the questions involved. Page 1 The Early Days of Theosophy in Europe by A.P. Sinnett CHAPTER - 1 - NO record could truly be called a History of the Theosophical Society if it concerned itself merely with events taking shape on the physical plane of life. From the first such events have been the result of activities on a higher plane; of steps taken by the unseen Powers presiding over human evolution, whose existence was unknown in the outer world when their great undertaking — the Theosophical Movement — was originally set on foot. To those known in the outer world as the Founders of the Theosophical Society — Madame Blavatsky and Colonel Olcott — the existence of these higher powers, The Brothers as they were called at first, was more or less imperfectly comprehended.

  • THE CHELA and the PATH: Keys to Soul Mastery in the Aquarian Age by El Morya
I direct this series to those moving in the wind of the Aquarian cycle. To those who would move into the new dispensation yet know not the way to go I say, there is a Path. Step by step it has been carved by the initiates of the sacred fire. Over thousands of years the barefooted devotees have worn a trail over the rocks. The way is known of us. It can also be known by you. In support of Saint Germain, Master of the Aquarian Age, exponent of the flame of freedom to mankind, I place the jewel of my crown upon the altar of the Great White Brotherhood, that those who have lost the way may find it again. The path to our abode is steep. The way is fraught with unknown dangers, yet the peaks of pride are more jagged than the uncharted heights. I come to clear the way for the chelas of God’s will—those who would become chelas of the ascended masters. Whether Christian or Jew, Moslem or Zen Bud- dhist, or none of these, know, O seeker after higher reality, that the path of initiation can be trod wherever you are. But you must take the first step. My respon- sibility is to guide and guard: yours is to follow. With the full faculties of mind and heart and soul, you chart the course of your life. El Morya The Chela and the Path Keys to Soul Mastery in the Aquarian Age Ascended Master El Morya Dictated to the Messenger Elizabeth Clare Prophet THE CHELA AND THE PATH: Keys to Soul Mastery in the Aquarian Age by El Morya.

For Keepers of the Flame Lesson Eight and Above https://www.keepersoftheflame.org 18: KEEPERS OF THE FLAME: “To Know, to Dare, to Do and to Be Silent.” 18.1 “Today the Keepers of the Flame occupy the same position in the Coming Revolution in Higher Consciousness that the Masons occupied two centuries ago.” Mother, 1980 Freemasonry prepared and carried out the American Revolution. Masonry alone undertook to lay the foundation for national unity in America. It fostered a feeling of American unity in a small but prominent class of people. There could have been no United States without it. By 1760, there was no town, big or small, where Masonry was not preaching fraternity and unity. It was difficult for the thirteen small settlements to break away from England. There was no unity or uniformity in their administrations, religious affiliations, customs, or social standards. The North was cold, deeply religious, intellectually Calvinistic, and getting rid of its slaves. The South was an irreligious, luxuriant tropical land that couldn’t do without her slaves. At that time, the most prominent of all American Masons was Benjamin Franklin. He built up the Masonic press, published the most forceful newspaper in America, established a chain of newspapers, and lent money to others to start their own newspapers. According to G.A. Gaskell, “Speculative Masonry is of the building up of man into a spiritual house, meet for the inhabitation of God.” The Masons originally were the white fire core initiates among the Israelites. Their sacred traditions were transmitted to succeeding generations in the various secret societies of the lightbearers.

Sanat Kumara John Nash [Published in The Beacon, March 2002, pp. 13-20.] Sanat Kumara, Lord of the World, Ancient of Days, Fountainhead of the Will, the Great Sacrifice, the One Initiator, Melchizedek, the King. These titles refer to the great Individuality who rules the world, presides over the Council of Shamballa, heads the Planetary Hierarchy, and wields the Rod of Initiation for the three major initiations. Sanat Kumara, in the Tibetan’s words, is “He to Whom Christ referred when He said, ‘I and My Father are One.’”1 The name “Sanat Kumara” is Sanskrit for “Eternal Youth,” or more poetically “Youth of Endless Summers,” providing two more titles. But who, precisely, is Sanat Kumara, what is His mission on Earth, and what is His relationship to the Planetary Logos? The present study attempts to shed light on the identity and role of One who is clearly of the utmost significance for the planet and all of us. So great is this significance that such a study must be approached with both reverence and caution. The Planetary Logos The seven planetary Logoi in our solar system are great Lives identified variously as the Heavenly Men, Silent Watchers, Planetary Spirits, Seven Spirits before the Throne, Elohim, or Dhyan-Chohans. All the planetary Logoi passed through the human kingdom in previous cycles and, after attaining adeptship, chose the third of seven paths of the Way of the Higher Evolution, which “leads to the higher levels of the cosmic mental plane.”2 The life of a planetary Logos is expressed through a planetary scheme consisting of seven chains, each of which in turn consists of seven globes, for a total of 49 globes.

Benjamin was of Concord, as, too, was Dinah's father, Josiah Wheeler, who migrated to Lancaster about the end of the preceding century. Her mother was Martha Prescott, daughter of John Prescott, Jr., and granddaughter of the founder of Lancaster. The homestead whither Benjamin Stearns came to dwell with his wife's parents lay at the easterly base of Wataquadock Hill, in Bolton, which had been incorporated as a township, from Lancaster territory, in 1738. A path from the door led to the easterly bound "Bay Road"^ running a little to the north of the house. Besides carrying on the farm of a hundred and fifty acres, which his wife inherited from her father three months after their marriage, the husband made, and doubtless mended, shoes, for in deeds he is described as "cordwainer."
