Evolution of Test Cricket in Last Six Decades a Univariate Time Series Analysis
Evolution of Test Cricket in Last Six Decades A Univariate Time Series Analysis Mayank Nagpal Sumit Mishra 1 Introduction We intend to analyse the structural changes in the average annual run-rate, i.e., how many runs are scored in each over, a measure of how much bat dominates the ball or how aggressively teams bat. Test cricket is the traditional format of the game. It is considered to be a snail-form of the game when we compare it with newer versions of the game, viz, ODI and T20 .A test cricket match lasting 5 days is apparently a lot less exciting for some than an ODI which lasts for eight hours or a T20 match which is matter of two-three hours. The general view is that with the advent of new technology, pitches that are more batsmen-friendly and craving for result in each game, the average run rate seems to have increased. Some analysts attribute this change to the emergence of newer formats and other innovations in the game. The question we are trying to answer is about whether these factors like those mentioned below had any significant impact on the game. The events whose effect we like to capture are: • Advent of One Day International(ODI):With dying popularity of test cricket matches during 1960s,a tournament called Gillette Cup was played in 1963 in England. The cup had sixty- five overs a side matches. This tourney was a knockout one and it became quite popular and laid foundation for a sleeker format of the game known as ODI-fifty overs a side game. -

Under 13'S Club Coaching Plan
Under 13’s Club Coaching Plan warwickshirecricketboard Warwickshire Cricket Board @warks_wcb Introduction Warwickshire Cricket Board has produced an 18-week coaching plan for clubs to help them deliver high quality coaching to children across the area. The plan features 6 winter sessions and 12 summer sessions to replicate the approximate period of time spent coaching children at your club each year. This equates to 18 hours coaching time. The aim of the plan is for children in the under 13 age group to enjoy participating in cricket through fun and engaging sessions, with a focus on developing technical and tactical play across all skills within the game. At under 13’s level, the majority of players have had experience of hard ball cricket for at least 2 seasons and therefore are experienced with the basics of the game. This plan specifically targets developing tactical and technical components of the game, to challenge the players to improve further and prepare for the demands of a faster-paced game at under 13, where players are now stronger and able to bowl strike and throw quicker. The tactical components of the plan explores all 3 disciplines of the game and include changing the lengths that are bowled, how to bat in situations, playing spin and allowing opportunities for all players to experience captaincy. It is imperative that every player is batting, bowling, catching and throwing as much possible, in order to develop the fundamental movements and techniques. The plan is set out to achieve continual active engagement in every activity. Progressions within activities are also an essential for both the development of the group, but also as an opportunity to challenge players through fun. -

ABSTRACT This study attempts to find if better performance in power play leads a team to victory in a Twenty20 match. Based on the methodology devised to do so, the study tries to measure the performance of both the teams during power play overs in terms of batting and bowling. The developed measure is called ‘Prod’ which is a product of the difference of batting and bowling performance of the teams during power play overs. The team with better performance in both the skills during power play is expected to win the match. But it would be difficult to predict the outcome of a match if the performance of a team is better in bowling and worse in batting and vice-versa. A total of 261 matches from different seasons of Indian Premier League (IPL) are considered for the study. The outcomes of 220 matches are predicted based on the performance of two teams in power play out of which 153 of them were correctly predicted.
