The venue is located in the area called Westelijk Havengebied, only 15 minutes by bus from the Central Station.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT (for Dutch see below) Theater Amsterdam is very easy to reach by public transport. It is only 30-40 minutes from Schiphol airport and 15-23 minutes from the Central Station. From Schiphol airport – Friday night • Every 14 minutes, the NS Sprinter train in the direction Hoorn Kersenboogerd, leaves for Amsterdam Station Sloterdijk. At Station Sloterdijk, change to the GVB stadsbus (city bus) 22 with direction . Exit at bus stop Uitgeeststraat. Walk 7 min to Theater Amsterdam at Danzigerkade 5. Total travel time: between 35-39 minutes.

• Also every 14 minutes, the NS Intercity train in the direction of Amsterdam Central Station leaves. Change at Amsterdam Central station to the GVB stadsbus (city bus) 22 with direction Amsterdam Station Sloterdijk (bus stop Central Station (Prins Hendrikkade)). Exit at bus stop Nova Zemblastraat. Walk 11 min. Total travel time: between 31-40 min.

From Amsterdam Central Station – Friday night • Between 17:42hs (arrival 18:00hs) en 18:09hs (arrival 18:22hs), every 7 minutes the GVB stadsbus (city bus) 248 with direction Koivistokade, leaves from the IJZIJDE (IJ SIDE) of the Central Station. Exit at bus stop Koivistokade. Walk 3 min. Total travel time: 18 min.

• From 17:54hs (arrival 18:11hs), every 13 minutes the GVB stadsbus (city bus) 48 with direction , leaves from the IJZIJDE (IJ SIDE) of the Central Station (3 min walk). Exit at bus stop Koivistokade. Walk 2 min. Total travel time: 15 min.

• Only(!) at 18:10hs and 18:25hs (arrival 18:33hs and 18:48hs resp.) the GVB stadsbus (city bus) 22 with direction Amsterdam Station Sloterdijk, leaves from bus stop Central Station (CS) Nicolaaskerk (2 min walk). Exit at bus stop Nova Zemblastraat. Walk 11 min. Total travel time: 23 min.

From Amsterdam Central Station – Saturday morning • Every 17 minutes the GVB stadsbus (city bus) 48 with direction Houthavens, leaves from the IJZIJDE (IJ SIDE) of the Central Station (3 min walk). Exit at bus stop Koivistokade. Walk 2 min. Total travel time: 15 min.

• Only(!) at 09:16hs (arrival 09:39hs) the GVB stadsbus (city bus) 22 with direction Station Sloterdijk, leaves from bus stop CS Nicolaaskerk (2 min walk). Exit at bus stop Nova Zemblastraat. Walk 11 min. Total travel time: 23 min.

For the tram, bus, and metro you can buy a day card (24 hours) for €7,50. This card you can buy either in the tram or in the bus. Or at the metro station at the ticket machine. Multiple day cards are also for sale. Most ticket machines accept Maestro cards (debit card), and Master or Visa Card. It is not possible to pay with cash money. Traveling from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam When you arrive at Schiphol Amsterdam Airport and you want to travel to your hotel or to Amsterdam city, please buy a train ticket or a public transport card for bus, tram, metro at the ticket machine or at the information desk at the airport. When you arrive at Eindhoven airport, you can take the bus to Eindhoven train station, which is a 20 minutes trip. From Rotterdam airport, the bus trip to Rotterdam Central train station costs €3,50 and takes less than 30 minutes. Make sure you buy a bus ticket with your bank card, cash payment is not accepted. At both Eindhoven and Rotterdam train station, you can buy a train ticket for the train to Amsterdam.

OPENBAAR VERVOER (NEDERLANDS) Theater Amsterdam is erg gemakkelijk te bereiken met het openbaar Vervoer. Vanaf Schiphol is de reistijd tussen de 30-40 minuten en vanaf het Centraal Station slechts 15 minuten met de bus. Voor persoonlijk afgestemde treintijden en -ritten, raadpleeg www.ns.nl. ACCOMMODATION IN AMSTERDAM Just a note: Amsterdam is not that big of a city. Which means you will find a suitable accommodation in the city, and even outside the city, and still reach the venue within the hour by public transport. To avoid the obvious tourist places, we have collected some of our favourite must see's & do’s while you are in town. Like this, you will be visiting Amsterdam like a local! Also, we’ve added our favourite vegetarian/vegan places for you where you can enjoy a ‘happy’ meal.

Amsterdam can be divided into 4 main areas: North, East, South and West. All areas have their own flavour. If you want to explore Amsterdam like a local, rent a bike or explore the city by foot.

NORTH area – free ferry trip across the IJ River – a def must do! This part of Amsterdam is a former shipping wharf area, now used as a space for artists/exhibitions/festivals and also includes offices and student housing. To reach this part of the city, you have to cross the IJ-river. You can do so by taking the FREE ferry and treat yourself with a trip over the IJ River. From the backside of the Central Station the free ferries depart to 3 parts of the North area. We suggest you to take the ferry with destination NDSM wharf – a 20-minute trip. Have a stroll, enjoy the waterside and visit the great spots where you can have a coffee, lunch or a drink.

EAST area – a bustling melting pot East (Oost) is one of the more undiscovered areas of Amsterdam. This neighbourhood is a bustling melting pot with many terrific hidden gems. It is one of the upcoming neighbourhoods in Amsterdam! It seems that a new hotspot pops up almost every day. The East area is nearby the city centre, but has such a different vibe. A drink at the rooftop of The Volkshotel is a must to enjoy the stunning views over Amsterdam! Feel as if you visit Turkey when you are in the Javastraat or feel and taste Surinam when visiting the Dappermarkt.

Westerpark - for some nature, cultural, relaxing and chill out time Adjacent to the centre, you will find the lively Westerpark neighbourhood, part of Amsterdam West.
