Member’s Annual Report 2017/18

This is the report by the Councillor below regarding her key activities over the year ending 31 March 2018. It is provided for the information of all constituents and for no other purpose. The views expressed in this report are those of the Councillor and they do not necessarily reflect the views of the Isle of County Council.

1 - Role & Responsibilities

Attendance levels may vary due to the nature of work and responsibilities of members - as portfolio holder, committee chair or representing the Council on outside bodies, for example.

I am a member of the Isle of Anglesey Charitable Trust and attended 4 out of the 6 meetings arranged. I am also a member of the Trust’s General Grants Committee and attended the 1 meeting held.

2 - Constituency Activity

I attend meetings of Llannerchymedd, , , Mechell & , Cylch y Garn, & and Llanfwrog Councils on a rota basis with my fellow councillors.

I am a Governor at Llanfechell and Bodedern Primary Schools.

I attended the only meeting of the North Anglesey Partnership that I was invited to, on behalf of Cylch y Garn and Mechell & Carreglefn Community Councils.

I have been involved with Lottery funding secured for Llannerchymedd that is now being driven forward through the Community Council.

Individuals can contact me via social media for support. During the last year I have received a number of enquiries within the ward regarding – Housing, Planning, Education, Highways, Waste, Adult Care and a number of other matters. I also provide general support by signposting people to the correct organisations.

3 - Initiatives and Special Activities

I have received a number of requests from schools wanting to visit the Council and I enjoy taking children from Anglesey on a tour of the building and raising awareness of the Council’s work and the role of the County Councillor.

I have participated as a trainer on the WLGA Leadership training, sharing my experiences to support Councillors throughout Wales.

5 - Other Activities and Issues

I have represented the ward in a number of different ways this year, combining the role of a Local Councillor with that of Council Leader. I enjoy representing the rural community and responding to local challenges.

I would like to thank everyone for their support and co-operation during the previous year, and the Council’s staff for helping me to respond to local needs, thank you to my family and friends for their help and a heartfelt thanks to Elliw and Twm for supporting their mother in this role.
