Aurlandsfjellet Hardanger Hardangervidda Ryfylke Jæren 1 STEGASTEIN. Over a short period of time, the viewing platform at Stegastein has succeeded in becoming an attraction 1 in its own right. This award-winning installation is constructed of laminated wood and steel, with solid plexiglass at its tip. It brings visitors 30 metres out into the air at a height of 650 metres above the fjord, adding a completely new dimension to the enjoy- ment of the majestic scenery and the spectacular fjord landscape. Architects: Todd Saunders and Tommie Wilhelmsen. 2 FLOTANE. Here you can find a rest area with benches, as well as service facilities operating on solar energy. Flotane is a 2 natural point of departure for hikes along the old construction road leading onto the mountain plateau. Architect: Lars Berge. 3 VEDAHAUGANE. At Vedahaugane you can enjoy vistas of the mountains, the valley and the peaks of the Jotunheimen massif. A concrete walkway on pillars above the terrain offers splendid vantage points and leads you to a thought-provoking art installation in a tunnel at its end. «DEN», created by the American artist Mark Dion, depicts an encounter between the history of hu- man civilisation and the forces of nature.
