The FFF Bayern disburses funding totaling 33 million — 4.7 million € of this funding is specifically allocated to the technically highly demanding and staff-intensive VFX and animation services and to international co-productions. In addition, there is a program that is dedicated to the games industry in Bavaria. [email protected] Abstract: During the years of the economic crisis, ‘broke celebrities’ attracted the attention of the Spanish media. The main aim of this paper is to analyse how these narratives of celebrities in bankruptcy fostered a neoliberal definition of the economic crisis and legitimised austerity policies. In these narratives, the crisis was represented as a social equaliser, affecting all social groups evenly; the causes of the crisis were individualised and celebrities were identified as the epitome of irresponsible citizens who have 'lived beyond their means'; and citizens were encouraged to do 'whatever it takes' to find a job. Nevertheless, our paper also shows how audiences contested some of these values in online comments, challenging the narratives conveyed by Spanish media. Keywords: neoliberalism; austerity; broke celebrities; Great Recession; schadenfreude Introduction Following the 2007 financial collapse, Spain endured a severe economic crisis from 2008 to 2015 that had harsh consequences for citizens, such as massive home evictions, a high unemployment rate (up to 27.16% in 2013) and an increase in poverty and social inequalities (Álvarez de Andrés et al. 2015, Marti and Fernandez 2015). -

Additionally- it can be determined what time of day they prefer to feed based upon this data. Six identical 100 ml feeders were filled with a 1:2 sugar to water ratio. Five common flower colors were chosen; red, yellow, green, blue, and purple; clear was used as a control. The feeders were put out on a custom-made feeder bar for four 10-14 day long trials. The nectar remaining in the feeder was measured to determine the nectar consumed over each trial. Then, the feeders were refilled, assigned new random positions, and hung back on the feeder bar for the next trial. The Animation Industry: Technological Changes, Production Challenges, and Global Shifts

Munroe ABSTRACT Animated films have grown in popularity as expanding markets (such as TV and video) and new technologies (notably computer graphics imagery) have broadened both the production and consumption of cartoons. As a consequence, more animated films are produced and watched in more places, as new “worlds of production” have emerged. The animation production system, specialized and distinct from film production, relies on different technologies and labor skills. Therefore, its globalization has taken place differently from live-action film production, although both are structured to a large degree by the global production networks (GPNs) of the media conglomerates. This research examines the structure and evolution of the animation industry at the global scale. In order to investigate these, 4,242 animation studios from the Animation Industry Database are used. The spatial patterns of animation production can be summarized as, 1) dispersion of the animation industry, 2) concentration in world cities, such as Los Angeles and New York, 3) emergence of specialized animation cities, such as Annecy and Angoulême in France, and 4) significant concentrations of animation studios in some Asian countries, such as India, South Korea and the Philippines. In order to understand global production networks (GPNs), networks of studios in 20 cities are analyzed.
