Abstract This report examines the potential effects of short sea shipping (SSS) development on the Texas transportation system. The project region includes Texas, Mexico, and Central America. In the international arena, the most likely prospects are for containerized shipments using small container ships. In the domestic arena, the most likely prospects are for coastwise shipments using modified offshore service vessels or articulated tug/barges. Only three Texas ports handle containers consistently (Houston accounts for 95% of the total), and three more handle containers sporadically.

II. : THE deiterol STUD BOOK, CONTAINING PEDIGREES OF RACE HORSES, &C. &-C. From the earliest Accounts to the Year 1831. inclusice. ITS FOUR VOLUMES. VOL. II. Brussels PRINTED FOR MELINE, CANS A.ND C"., EOILEVARD DE WATERLOO, Zi. M DCCC XXXIX. MR V. un:ve PREFACE TO THE FIRST EDITION. To assist in the detection of spurious and the correction of inaccu- rate pedigrees, is one of the purposes of the present publication, in which respect the first Volume has been of acknowledged utility. The two together, it is hoped, will form a comprehensive and tole- rably correct Register of Pedigrees. It will be observed that some of the Mares which appeared in the last Supplement (whereof this is a republication and continua- tion) stand as they did there, i. e. without any additions to their produce since 1813 or 1814. — It has been ascertained that several of them were about that time sold by public auction, and as all attempts to trace them have failed, the probability is that they have either been converted to some other use, or been sent abroad. If any proof were wanting of the superiority of the English breed of horses over that of every other country, it might be found in the avidity with which they are sought by Foreigners. The exportation of them to Russia, France, Germany, etc. for the last five years has been so considerable, as to render it an object of some importance in a commercial point of view.

Ghuznee Prize money, being a list of East India Company Soldiers awarded the prize money awarded for the siege of Ghuznee in Afghanistan 1839, taken from India Office Record L/MIL/5/259. Compiled by B.J. Hodkinson June 2017© This is a complete list of the names in the list, with Limerick men or those with known Limerick connections marked in red. A corresponding prize list for those who were in the Queen’s Army does not seem to have survived. Names struck through are struck through in the original. Those marked “dead” are those who died between the capture of Ghuznee and the eventual payment of the prize money some 9 years later. In some instances the name of the heir is given. Bengal officers’ names have been checked against V.C.P. Hodson, Officers of the Bengal Army 1758- 1834, 6 vols, 1926 onwards. Some junior officers enlisted after the 1834 cut off. N.B. • The Nobility of the Heart
THE NOBILITY OF THE HEART: A NOVEL. _____________________ BY ELIZABETH ISABELLA SPENCE, AUTHOR OF HELEN SINCLAIR. _____________________ For Fortune can depress, or can advance: But true Nobility is of the mind, Not giv’n by Chance, and not to Chance resign’d. DRYDEN. IN THREE VOLUMES. VOL. I. LONDON : PRINTED FOR LONGMAN, HURST, REES, AND ORME, PATERNOSTER-ROW. 1805. THE NOBILITY OF THE HEART. CHAP. I. No friend’s complaint, no kind domestic tear, Pleas’d thy pale ghost or grac’d thy mournful bier; By foreign hands thy dying eyes were clos’d, By foreign hands thy decent limbs compos’d; By foreign hands thy humble grave adorn’d, By strangers honour’d, and by strangers mourn’d. POPE. TEN years had now elapsed since the inhabitants of a small cottage on the borders of the New Forest, were one night, in the middle of December, alarmed at a late hour by a person loudly knocking for admittance. He was habited as a postilion, and supported a sick traveller who was unable to pursue his journey. On Gerard’s opening the door, he perceived the paleness of death on the countenance of the stranger, who, overcome by illness and the intense cold, was quite insensible. He had along with him a little girl of about four years old, whom Gerard’s benevolent wife gently took in her arms and put to bed. The gentleman lingered only a few hours after his arrival, and expired, supported in his last moments by Gerard and Agatha. On the close of the melancholy scene, they asked the post-boy a thousand questions about the stranger.
