PRODUCTION TRUCK SET UP Audio PRODUCTION TRUCK SET UP Audio Set up and Fax Announce Booth/Table set up Plug in XLR Cables according to cabling sheet. The back of the announce boxes are cabled as follows: Main Out = Microphone out from Multi-pair cable number 1 for play by play announcer , number 2, for color analyst or number 3 for the spare or Guest analyst IFB IN = from multi-pair cable number 10 for play by play announcer, number 11 for color announcer, or number 12 for the spare or Guest analyst. In most cases these cables will need to have a Y cord attached to duplicate the IFB signal for the Handheld stick microphone. TalkBack Out = multipair cable number 7. This cable requires a 3 way Y cord to enable one to connect all three accouncer boxes into the number 7 microphone line. Mic In = the XLR cable that is attached to the annoucer headphones Phones out = the ¼” plug that is attached to the annoucer headphones Please connect the 24VDC connector to power the annouce box. Not Not Not used used used Hand Held microphones In the Home TV Booth for football attach a microphone to the longer black cable on one of two 25 foot married pair XLR Cables. One end of the two married pair XLR cables the ends are close to being the same length, the other end the black cable will be significantly longer. Use the longer end of the married pair to plug into the IFB box, (blue cable), and the longer black cable for the microphone. The opposite end of the married cable that near to the same length the microphone or black cable should be attached to pair number 4 or 5 of the multi pair cable and the blue cable should be attached to the Y cord that is attached the appropriate IFB line, (10 for the Play by Play announcer and 11 for the color analyst). Extra Cables you will need Remember to take a 25 ft. cable XLRs for the stage manager’s intercom box and (2) 25 ft. married pair XLRs for the 2 announcers microphone and IFB Boxes. The truck is also equipped with a 12 count multi-pair that can be used to extend from the Booth audio panel to the announcer table. PRODUCTION TRUCK SET UP The Audio Connections for the Home TV booth panel are as follows: 1) (Brown )Play by Play announcer microphone console 2) (Red) Color analyst microphone announcer console 3) (Orange)Spare or Guest analyst announcer console 4) (Yellow) Stick or Handheld microphone for play by play announcer. (This may be attached directly to the Booth Panel) 5) (Green) Stick or Handheld microphone for the Color Analyst. (This may be attached directly to the Booth Panel) 6) (Blue) Stage manager intercom. This may be attached directly to the Booth Panel) 7) (Violet) Talkback (this cable must have an attached 3 way Y cord to attach to the 3 announce boxes into TalkBack out). 8) (Gray) Spare 9) (White) Radio FX Make sure that Mitch knows that that is for his radio feed 10) ( Black) Play By Play IFB (This will require a Y cable to attach to both the HH microphone IFB and the announcer console) 11) (Light Brown) Color Analyst IFB (This will require a Y cable to attach to both the HH microphone IFB and the announcer console) 12) Light Red or Pink) Spare or Guest Analyst IFB(This may require a Y cable to attach to both the HH microphone IFB and the announcer console) Audio set up on the Field. The field set up is fairly simple. You will need to have 2 intercom boxes one for Red Hat and one for the Audio Assistant, (A-2), plus the Parabolic microphone. You will need the long green married pair and 2 long single XLR’s for the red hat and A-2 intercom’s. For the Parabolic microphone you can use a 25’ single XLR to hang the wireless receiver on the banner above the field. The audio connections to the field panel are as follows: 1) Field microphone for the side line reporter 2) Second field microphone if necessary 3) Parabolic microphone wireless receiver 6) Red Hat 7) A-2 10) Sideline IFB 1 for sideline reporter microphone 1 11) Sideline IFB 2 for second side line reporter microphone 2 FAXING AUDIO There are several steps to Faxing or doing a technical check of the audio. Have an assistant to help you verify that you hear the microphone audio through the audio console I have always found it helpful to first check the stage manager intercom box. This provides a go to place if one or the other audio persons does not hear or able to talk to each other over the announcer headset or other microphones in the PRODUCTION TRUCK SET UP booth. If you really have issues it may be helpful to have the Walkie-Talkie type radios that are available in the audio area of the production truck. FAXING the TalkBack Announcer Consoles Start with the play by play console then move to the Color analyst and then the Guest or Spare console Have your assistant put on the announcer headset and talk into the microphone. Check the microphone audio on the appropriate console input (play by play console fader 1 etc.) Does your assistant hear you? IFB All Call and appropriate IFB channel (Play by Play =IFB 1,etc) PxP Color Spare Sideline ALL CAll Can you hear them from TalkBack? Cue or bring up fader for console input 25 Do they hear themselves in the headset Play music from the Digi-cart machine bring up the Digi-cart fader on the audio console. Does you assistant hear music If available track the Final-Cut playback audio to determine if your assistant can hear that audio If available track the Dyno replay audio to determine if your assistant can hear that audio If your assistant does not hear you or you hear them go use the radio or stage manager intercom to re-establish communication and try and figure out what is going on. Repeat steps for other announce consoles and stick microphones minus the talkback feature. Make sure the producer and director station also can talk to the announcer consoles and have Cindy test those if she is available. If you are unable to complete a fax on any of the announcer consoles or stick microphones move on and Fax what you can then let one of the engineering team know so they can help you trace it down. Video Assignments Home TV Booth 1) Play By Play monitor 2) Color monitor 3) Turn around monitor (this means that when Mitch and Kevin are facing the Booth Camera, they can see a monitor with program on it). 4) Truck program for Steve Shaff in the statistics booth to the right of the Home TV Booth 5) Booth Camera Visiting TV Booth 1) Truck Program for the Visiting Radio announcers as a courtesy for allowing our camera to be placed in there while they are broadcasting their game Field panel 1) Truck program for the sideline reporter (requires as long coax cable and extension cord with a power strip from the field panel) Make sure to bring the light kit. PRODUCTION TRUCK SET UP Camera TRIAX Assignments Camera 1 is located over the entrance to the seating areas at about the north 20 yard line. This camera is to have a studio build up kit and a Vinten 250 tripod (larger case of the two soft tripod cases) Camera 2 is located in the Visiting TV Booth. You will need a 25ft triax cable. This camera is one of the two cameras with the large lenses and a large lens adaptor (sled) separate large tripod and pan head Camera 3 is located over the entrance to the seating areas at about the south 20 yard line. This camera is to have a studio build up kit and a Vinten 250 tripod (larger case of the two soft tripod cases) Camera 4 is located in the north end zone on a scissor lift. This camera is one of the two cameras with the large lenses and a large lens adaptor (sled) separate large tripod and pan head Camera 5 and 6 are Hand held cameras on the west field. Camera 6 covers north of the 50 yard line and Camera 5 covers south of the 50 yard line. Both cameras require a longer Triax cable to cover those distances. Camera five will require a tripod and if necessary the short tripod to get low angle shots. Camera 7 or the Booth camera will have its own tripod and power supply. The SDI 1signal out of the camera will connect to video panel numbers 6 to send the video to the truck. Clock Camera – is placed on the top of the press box to enable a clear shot of the game clock and score. It is connected to a triax to coax adaptor on the roof that will send the signal to the appropriate triax to coax adaptor on the panel by the truck. PRODUCTION TRUCK SET UP Engineer: Truck 1. Engineers will move the truck to production site. 2. Arrange for use of Duelly to transport generator to Rolle for Basketball and Volleyball events. 3. Park and Power day before event.
