Battlefords North Stars Coach Kevin Hasselberg on Igor Leonenko (Click on image for video) Follow Igor, born in Belarus and from. First overall excites Battlefords North Stars. Igor Leonenko, front right, of North Battleford North Stars, celebrates a goal in action during SJHL showcase event at the Legends Arena in Warman, Monday, October. (Greg Pender/The StarPhoenix) Greg Pender / The StarPhoenix. The No. 1 seed and home-ice advantage throughout the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League was sitting on the goal-line Tuesday for the Battlefords North Stars, who entered their game against the Humboldt Broncos just one win away from clinching first overall. With three games remaining in their schedule and a game in hand on the second-place Melfort Mustangs, the North Stars entered Tuesday’s action with a 40-11-2-2 record and 84 points. Melfort is next at 38-13-3-2 and 81 points. “If we can get one win out of our next three, we’ll secure that (first overall) position,” North Stars head coach and GM Kevin Hasselberg was saying Tuesday. “It’s been a goal of ours and I know our players are excited about the opportunity that they’ve given themselves to clinch on our terms and not someone else’s. “Now we’ve just got to go out and earn it. Our players are just focused on a win and that will do it for us.” First overall would mean that the Stars would play the lowest seed following the Survivor Series and, in theory, the most favourable matchup. “I don’t know if there are any favourable matchups in this league, the way this league works and how opponents prepare for each other, but just for the opportunity to start each series in our home rink is a privilege and something our fans deserve,” said Hasselberg. “To earn that for them to see us at home on (series-opening night) is huge.” SJHL AWARD FINALISTS. The SJHL has unveiled its finalists for league awards. The league finalists for the RBC Player of the Year are Austin Calladine of the Kindersl . The three SJHL MVP finalists include goalies Jack Burgart of the Weyburn Red Wings (Viterra Division) and Kris Joyce of the La Ronge Ice Wolves (Sherwood Division) along with Battlefords North Stars hulking forward Igor Leonenko (Finning Division). Leonenko entered Tuesday’s game with 43 goals and 41 assists for 84 points, second only to Travis Mayan of the Melfort Mustangs. Igor Leonenko of the North Stars is the SJHL player of the week after picking up 10 points in three games. Ochapowace native Kirk Bear of the Mustangs earns top D-man honours with two goals and three assists in two games. Igor befriends Alexandr Ivanovich Medvedev, the current President of Kontinental Hockey, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Directors of Russian energy firm Gazprom. It’s 6 am and Igor Leonenko just returned home after an hour jog along the beautiful Santa Cruz, California ocean. The frame and stature of Igor at 6’ 4.5” and 225 lbs., is imposing. Igor put on skates and grabbed a stick just after learning to walk. A valued member of the Belarus National team, like others, Igor has come to the West and is now making a name for himself as pointed out in the article “Belarusian Import Leonenko a Hot Commodity.” In 2012-2013 with the San Jose Junior Sharks League, Igor was the top scorer with 21 points. He laughingly says, “If I could speak English, maybe I would have more!” He can’t praise his teammates enough for their patience and accepting him as one of their own. As of April 2016, Igor finished a two season of record playing, helping to bring the Battlefords North Stars of Saskatchewan Canada to the league playoffs for the SJHL cup. Fighting hard for the final they lost in double over time to Flin Flon Bombers. Igor's statistics and performance for the season was phenomenal. He already has a growing fan club in Santa Cruz, where his mom, Svetlana lives. Ballet Gala celebrating the 80th Birthday Year of Maya Plisetskaya. This gala brings together the worlds greatest dancers of today, all of whom wish to pay tribute to Maya Plisetskaya in her 80th year. Maya Plisetskaya is Prima Ballerina Assoluta, with a career has stretched over sixty years; she came to symbolise the Bolshoi Theatre in its glory years and that despite being forbidden to travel outside the Soviet Union until 1959. She made her name in the role of Odette/Odile in and the title role of Raymonda. In Britain, she was best known for her Dying Swan, a tiny but utterly compelling part of her vast repertoire. Her legend owes just as much to a rejection of ballet convention and to her extraordinary energy; she inspired new and cutting-edge roles by such figures as Roland Petit and Maurice BКjart. Maya Plisetskaya is also a choreographer, a parallel life she began in 1974 with a ballet based on Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina using music composed by her husband Rodion Shschedrin. On 12 February Maya Plisetskaya will be making a special appearance on the stage. The performers will include: From the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow: Ilse Liepa, Galina Stepanenko, Svetlana Zakharova, Andrei Uvarov. From the Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg: Ulyana Lopatkina, Farukh Ruzimatov, Igor Zelensky. From : Leanne Benjamin, Darcey Bussell, , Roberta Marques, Marinela NuУes, Miyako Yoshida, Viacheslav Samodurov, Thiago Soares and former principal . The ballet gala will be accompanied by the orchestra of the Royal Opera House. The programme will include repertoire chosen by the dancers and repertoire specially requested by Maya Plisetskaya. The evening will include a short film about Maya Plisetskya’s performing life. The artistic director of the Maya Plisetskaya tribute Programme is renowned ballet dancer and choreographer Andris Liepa. Andris Liepa is a former Bolshoi star. He is also founder of the Maris Liepa Ballet Foundation, an organisation responsible for recreating the ballets of Mikhail Fokine, all of the 80th anniversary celebrations of Maya Plisetskya in Russia and many other important productions. Candi Milo. Early life and career [ edit | edit source ] Milo was born in Palm Springs, California, [1] but her family moved to San Jose shortly after her birth. In San Jose, Milo attended the all-girls Presentation High School. Her father, Tony Migliaccio, was a child actor who changed his last name to Milo when he started playing adult roles. Her first appearance on stage was with her father at Turk Murphy's in 1964, where they sang Me and My Shadow together. By the time Milo was eleven, she was participating in children's musical theater. [2] In 1977, she began singing in theme park attractions, most notably at Disneyland in Anaheim. Afterwards, she started appearing in roles in movies and television series, such as Gimme a Break! , Knots Landing , and Perfect Strangers . Milo was also a member of "The Mighty Carson Art Players" on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson . She accidentally got into voiceover acting after singing on stage. She was signed by The William Morris Agency for voice acting, which was initially disappointing to her because Milo originally wanted a singing career. [2] Milo's first voice role was Sweetie Pie in Tiny Toon Adventures in 1990. Milo first auditioned in 1988 for Tiny Toons by reading The Three Little Pigs , but made the wolf kosher and the three pigs suicidal and she booked the job. She later played Lonette, an attractive animated waitress; Bob, a member of Holli Would's gang of goons who was a cross-dresser and other characters in Cool World in addition to feeding lines to the other actors. [1][2] She went on to be very active in cartoons, voicing Pakka in Cro , Ann Gora in SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron , Little Red Riding Hood in 2 Stupid Dogs , and the main characters' Mom, who was an unseen character and their teacher in Cow and Chicken . Later, she replaced Christine Cavanaugh as the voice of Dexter in Dexter's Laboratory in 2001 when Cavanaugh retired from voice acting. Milo voiced Dexter until the end of the series. Her other voice credits include Snap from ChalkZone , The Flea on ¡Mucha Lucha! and the title character in the U.S. version of the 2003 Astro Boy ( Tetsuwan Atomu ) series. From 2003 to 2009, she did the voice of Dr. Nora Wakeman in My Life as a Teenage Robot . For this role, she was subsequently nominated for the Annie Award in 2004 and 2005. [3] During this time, the actress also voiced the Ophelia Ramirez in The Life and Times of Juniper Lee , Irma Lair in W.I.T.C.H. , Zadavia in Loonatics Unleashed , as well as Coco, Madame Foster and Cheese in Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends . Milo says that when creating a unique voice the artist's drawings speak to her and that she prides herself on creating "a full life" for each character. [2] In October 2015, she made her return to the stage, playing the role of Grandmama Addams in the 3-D Theatricals version of The Addams Family . [4] In 2019, she directed Suicidal Blonde , who stars Kimmy Robertson. [5] Milo returned once again to stage in February 2020 with another 3-D Theatricals play called Kinky Boots , with her playing as Trish. The first light cruiser with turbine propulsion, laid down for the Imperial Russian Navy. Svietlana was notably faster than her predecessors. Her armor protection and weapons were quite good for her time. The ship's artillery was remarkable for its long range and strong ballistic properties. Modules. Svietlana is a unique ship with many interesting qualities that make her stand apart from her tier 4 rivals. Most noticeably she has numerous 130 mm guns as her main battery armament - the caliber later seen on higher tier Soviet destroyers. She can fire eight of these guns per broadside, the most of any Tier IV cruiser. In addition, swinging the bow of the ship back and forth can bring almost all the guns to bear on a target you are charging at, as well as making yourself hard to hit. The downside for the cruiser though is the poor reload time, unlike the other cruisers for it's tier. The AA weaponry is also for show and will rarely shoot down any aircraft. The placement of torpedoes is also something to be aware at, due to the fact that their placement is way at the back of the ship and exposes your entire broadside when attacking. This allows the enemy easy citadel hits. Excellent shell ballistics (high shell speed and flat arcs). Good concealment despite being the largest cruiser at Tier IV. Wide torpedo launch arcs. Low caliber guns (130 mm) enable this ship to benefit from Basic and Advanced Firing Training captain skills as well as full benefit (+2.5°) from Expert Marksman. Can equip Hydroacoustic Search ( ). Slow reload time for a Tier IV cruiser. Poor torpedo damage, speed, and range. Slow rudder shift time. Abysmal AA defense. Second slowest Tier IV cruiser. Placement of torpedo launchers, means you must expose your broadside to most enemies. Research. Availability of researchable upgrades for Svietlana is as follows: Main Battery: Much faster turret traverse and improved AP shell damage Hull: Larger health pool, more AA, quicker rudder shift. Research of this module unlocks progression to Kotovsky . Gun Fire Control System: Upgrade to GFCS IV Mk.2 for an extra 10% range on the main battery.
