Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1/Mtv Unplugged LUNEDì 16 OTTOBRE 2017 Il 20 ottobre Sony Music ripubblica il secondo album solista di George Michael, il leggendario Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1 insieme a MTV Unplugged rimasterizzato e con un brano in più: "Fantasy", remixato e George Michael, il 20 ottobre esce ora arricchito del featuring di Nile Rodgers. "Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1/Mtv Unplugged" e il 21 ottobre Per celebrare questa preziosa ristampa, già programmata da tempo, su Sky Arte il documentario Sony Music con BBC Worldwide e Channel 4 avevano deciso di girare "George Michael: Freedom", un imperdibile documentario con la "George Michael: Freedom" voce narrante di George Michael. George stava lavorando ancora a "George Michael: Freedom" proprio poco prima di morire, fino al dicembre del 2016, e si tratta quindi del suo ultimo lavoro, verrà trasmesso in anteprima assoluta italiana su Sky Arte sabato 21 ottobre alle 21.15. CRISTIAN PEDRAZZINI Diretto da David Austin e da George Michael stesso, con la produzione esecutiva di David Austin e prodotto da Lisa Johnson, "Freedom" presenta gli interventi di star del calibro di Stevie Wonder, Nile Rodgers, [email protected] Elton John, Mark Ronson, Mary J Blige, Tony Bennett, Liam Gallagher, SPETTACOLINEWS.IT James Corden, Ricky Gervais, Kate Moss e le top model dell'indimenticabile video "Freedom! 90" (Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Tatjana Patitz and Linda Evangelista) e molti altri. L'album "Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1/MTV Unplugged" esce in formato standard 2 cd e digitale (con la nuova versione del brano "Fantasy"), deluxe (con un terzo cd contenente speciali remix e b-sides, un dvd con "Listen Without Prejudice Southbank Show special" del 1990, la performance of "Freedom! 90" per i 10 anni di MTV (1990), un codice per il download di "Fantasy" e un libretto con foto e memorabilia dall'archivio personale di George Michael) e in vinile (con "Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1"). La performance unplugged per MTV è stata registrata a Londra l'11 ottobre del 1996 e rientra per la prima volta in assoluto all'interno di un cofanetto. Il concerto venne registrato al Three Mills Island Studios a East London e include brani che hanno segnato la carriera di George Michael dal periodo degli Wham! fino a "Older", riproposti in un'intima chiave acustica. "Fantasy", remixato e ora arricchito del featuring di Nile Rodgers, è una Pag. 1 / 3 bomba dance, dove si vede la firma di Rodgers nella produzione, che fa capire come mai fosse un pezzo così amato dallo stesso George. All'inizio del 2016 George era alla ricerca del singolo perfetto con cui lanciare l'attesissima riedizione di"Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1/MTV Unplugged", e la scelta era ricaduta su "Fantasy". Così ha contattato Nile Rodgers: non solo una garanzia di successo in quanto hitmaker, ma soprattutto l'unica persona che avrebbe potuto rendere "Fantasy" ancora più funky di quanto non fosse già. George e Nile si sono trovati immediatamente sulla stessa lunghezza d'onda. "Fantasy", originariamente inciso da George Michael alla fine degli anni '80, doveva già far parte di "Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1", suo secondo album solista. George avrebbe voluto addirittura che fosse uno dei singoli di punta dell'album, ma era invece passato in sordina. Alla fine "Fantasy" è stata pubblicata nel 1990 come B-side della versione americana del singolo "Freedom! '90" e della versione britannica di "Waiting For That Day". Nel 1991 George Michael ha cantato "Fantasy" nel corso del Cover tour e ha voluto anche regalarla ai suoi fan, facendo trovare una cassetta con il brano su ciascuno dei posti a sedere nei luoghi dove si era esibito. Ha riproposto "Fantasy"anche a più di dieci anni di distanza, nel corso del 25 Live Tour. "Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1" è il secondo album di George Michael da solista. Arrangiato, prodotto e quasi totalmente scritto dallo stesso George, è il lavoro che lo confermò agli occhi del mondo come uno degli artisti più innovativi e pieni di personalità. Facendo un passo indietro, con "Faith", il suo debutto solista, George Michael divenne uno dei pochi artisti in grado di vendere milioni di album a livello mondiale. George Michael però non era né capace né disposto a essere una popstar 24 ore su 24, costantemente sotto i riflettori, quindi avvertì l'esigenza di presentare la sua musica seguendo semplicemente l'istinto. Perciò decise di non apparire sulla copertina di "Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1" e di non partecipare fisicamente alla promozione dell'album, al di là di qualche intervista selezionata, ma consegnò alla casa discografica l'indimenticabile video di "Freedom! '90", diretto da David Fincher, in cui cinque delle più famose modelle del pianeta cantavano il suo brano in playback. Tutto questo creò una divergenza di opinioni sulle modalità con cui George e l'etichetta intendevano promuovere il disco. Conquistando la vetta delle classifiche, "Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1" (che nel Regno Unito superò le vendite di "Faith" e raggiunse il traguardo dei quattro dischi di platino) era l'espressione di una superstar globale con le idee ben chiare, determinata a lasciare il segno e a superare i propri limiti musicali. Poco dopo la pubblicazione dell'album, George conobbe Anselmo Feleppa, il suo grande amore. La rabbia per la tragica e prematura morte di Anselmo, unita alla frustrazione per il modo in cui l'etichetta americana aveva promosso l'album, contribuirono alla drammatica decisione dell'artista di intentare una causa contro Sony. Il risultato fu una pausa di quasi due anni, durante i quali George decise di convogliare tutte le sue energie nella contestazione del contratto discografico standard e nella difesa degli interessi di tutti gli artisti. Sebbene perse la causa, George guadagnò la libertà personale e artistica che tanto aveva agognato. Sono passati quasi ventisette anni da allora, e tra George e Sony era da tempo tornata la pace. "Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1" rimane un disco senza tempo, che spazia da splendide canzoni di protesta come "Praying For Time" e "Mother's Pride" all'intima "Cowboys & Angels", passando per l'autobiografica "Freedom! '90". Brani in cui George Michael ha messo tutto se stesso. "George Michael: Freedom" racconta l'avvincente genesi di "Listen Pag. 2 / 3 Without Prejudice Vol. 1", la successiva causa legale e il dolore e le difficoltà di George per la perdita di Anselmo. Si capisce anche come George sia riuscito a riunire le cinque supermodelle del video di "Freedom! '90", quando in molti ci provavano da tempo senza riuscirci. Il film si arricchisce dei contributi di stelle della musica mondiale come Stevie Wonder, la cui "They Won't Go When I Go" è l'unica cover contenuta in "Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1"; Elton John, che descrive l'album come il "capolavoro" di George; Liam Gallagher, secondo il quale George "ha qualcosa che lo accomuna a Lennon"; Mary J Blige, che ci ricorda che George "ha infranto le regole per tutti quanti noi";Tony Bennett, Nile Rodgers, Mark Ronson, Kate Moss, Tracey Emin, Ricky Gervais, Emmanuelle Alt(direttrice dell'edizione francese di Vogue), Jean-Paul Gaultier e James Corden. Non mancano le testimonianze di alcuni dirigenti della casa discografica, a disagio nell'affrontare uno dei loro più grandi artisti nelle aule di un tribunale, e degli avvocati che seguirono la causa. Die Uhr wurde gefertigt in einer Epoche des Umbruchs, in vielerlei Hin- sicht, aber eben auch im Uhrenmarkt. Die Schweiz exportierte in den 1930er-Jahren erstmals mehr Armbanduhren als Taschenuhren, die dann relativ rasant an Bedeutung verloren. Der Lauf der Zeit. Das ist so ein Kommentar, wenn wir Entwicklungen, die uns (noch) nicht geheuer sind, erklären wollen.

Section 1 describes my personal methods for producing artwork that creates cultural commentary. The history of the usage of sex in advertising is described and explains how advertising today has become pornographied. Section 2 discusses the conception of Advertising's Red Light as an artwork.

[With] silver prints and film posters plastered from floor to ceiling, images that burst from the walls, invade our space and inhabit our consciousness, The Unknown is a gigantic remix without order or chronology, a visual journey through decades of images, a story sure to be continued in future episodes, through other unknown territories.” 1 The Unknown represents a step beyond Lindbergh’s recent cinematic series Invasion, in that it takes various and unsettling episodes, characters and stories and remixes them. The result is rather like stumbling onto a movie set midway through production: clearly, this is a storyboard-in-progress, a mysterious narrative that we, the viewers, must piece together for ourselves.
